This is my first post and wasn't sure if it was a voucher or a deal, its both depending on whether you prefer the IKEA restaurant or the store.

I was in IKEA Warrington today (no idea if nationwide or not) the offer is whatever money you spend in the IKEA restaurant between 8th Nov and 4th December, entitles you to get a discount off your store spend for the same amount between 6th and 24th December.

Probably not a deal if you live miles away or dislike the food, but if like me you live within 5 miles of an IKEA it works out well.

Basically anything you spend on food in the cafe you get the same amount back at the checkout in store (but not on the same day, so the distance thing plays a part).

So if you want something from IKEA, why not go and splurge massively in the cafe, they sell things that could easily be taken home like sweets and drinks. I eat in the cafe every so often so now I've got £12 to spend on christmas decorations next month.

It's also not really noted anywhere, couldn't see it on the website or signage in store. It was pointed out to me by the cashier and is on the receipt.

THey also also a delicous cinnamon whirl and a hot drink for 50p, this is 35p cheaper than a drink on its own!

8) Happy days..6 meatball meals for me &2 large coffees...then off to buy something for £25 less the cost of lunch

Well spotted Chelsea!

Not sure the lengths you could go to, if you wanted to buy a kitchen you could just shout "the meatballs are on me."

Plenty of folks were leaving their receipts on their trays, so if you were a bit cheap then you could go and poke around the trays at lunchtime.

its a great deal in my opinion, I bought a cheap lunch for my wife and parents and now get some christmas decorations for free!

Hmm. I thought there was a minimum spend because I didn't get one (only had the 8 meatballs and a free drink). Not a happy bunny now. I saw them given out to other people, and read the sign that just said T&C's apply.
#12
I've just read the T&Cs & it seems that you have to make two trips - one to eat & collect your voucher then the other to shop & redeem your voucher at least 2 days later. Not the end of the world but...

Thats because you will be so full from eating all the food you might want to lie down for a few days

I was going to be getting another Malm chest of draws next month anyway. I just checked with the Bristol store and the offer is definitely running there, so I guess it might be worth getting a few friends together and popping down sometime before the 4th December and going for a £60 feast of meatballs and spuds!

I saw a presentation from a guy who used to work in IKEA's marketing team recently.

He said that their cafes aren't allowed to make any money. If you're a store manager and your cafe is in profit at the end of the year, you get into trouble.

If i was going to buy something from Ikea, I would offer to take my mum and sister out for lunch,

My mother would automatically pay, Then i would steal her receipt and run for it lol (_;)

I am surprised the temperature is going up so high, this was on here quite recently, but cannot seem to find it now?

Unknown company. Stay away. Spend £500 more and buy your furniture at John Lewis.

I remember that... if we are thinking of the same one, the promotion at that point was store specific.

breakfast down ikea it is then hahaha

seems like a stupid question to ask, but it says "Voucher is limited to one per person and only one transaction at the checkouts.", does it mean that you can only use 1 receipt to claim money off for 1 transaction at a time? In this case, you won't be able to accummulate a couple of receipts and use them altogether in 1 transaction?
#26
I think this deal is simple if you break it down... you just do one trip to buy your food, then spend the voucher leading up to christmas.. So basically you get free meals...

Now if the title read 'free ikea food' then people may understand the offer! Yes you may have to make a bit of an effort, but what the heck, if your close to ikea (there is one in coventry city centre near to me) then this is something for nothing.
#27
I'd just ask for an entire Daim cake, and have done with it. Oh, and I might go for this offer too...

Agreed. Someone needs to do a WHOIS of ikea.co.uk so we can find out more.

Am i missing something.. What do you mean by 'unknown company'?
#33
Good deal but surely there must be a maximum spend? Otherwise you could feed a 100 people and get a new sofa for free.

I'm in Coventry. We are one of the few cities to have an Ikea in the City Centre :)

Their web site implies nationwide, as in UK and IE:-
