As stated in the title really. Buy a gift card and whatever you spend you will get 10% put on another gift card for yourself.
Could work out great if you were planning on buying a kitchen or something big. Put the money on gift cards and you could save yourself 10%.

Gift Card Terms and Conditions

1. For each IKEA gift Card purchased you will receive a second gift card worth 10% of the purchased value free of charge.

2. The offer is, subject to availability and valid from 20/12/2010 to 23/12/2010.

3. Offer available on gift cards purchased in stores within UK and ROI only and excludes gift cards purchased online.

4. All returns subject to IKEA’s current returns policy.

5. In addition to the IKEA returns policy, if you return the qualifying item, this offer will cease to apply and you will be required to return the Promotional Item also.

6. If you fail to return the Promotional Item, IKEA UK Ltd reserves the right to charge you (using the payment method you used for the qualifying purchase) for the Promotional Item, without further notice, at the current IKEA UK Ltd price.

That was good timing, off there this evening, so it's basically 10% off then?!
Yeah, I'm guessing that if your planning on spending £100 then go straight to the cash desk and order a £90 gift card. :)
Exactly what i did today - calculate what you want to buy, and buy a gift card for 90% of the value - that covers 99% of the cost. Happy days. However the idiots at Wembley spent 10 minutes arguing that it should only be allowed if its sent to you as an ikea family offer, until I got my phone out and loaded their website and showed them their offer.

Idiots - every other time I've been in Ikea they've been wonderful, not this time.
