yeah, great charity and most of us have plenty of books we won't read again.
#3
Do you drop off in IKEA or at the charity shop?
#4
"5 unwanted books" - that'll be anything written by Jeffrey Archer then.
#5

A quick Google revealed this:
Save the Children book donations
Our BILLY bookcase is 30 years old! To celebrate we’ve joined together with Save the Children to create a book donation scheme raising funds for children around the world.

Donate a minimum of 5 books to Save the Children and we will reward you with a £5 IKEA Gift Card.

Offer valid from 28 September to 11 October 2009.

Doesn't really say much, and possibly only in Coventry?

So you can donate any kind of book? I have absolutely loads of books on my shelf which I've had since I was 5:-D
#13
does anyone know where to drop the books off? I can either drive 20mins to the save the children or 2.5 hours to ikea in Bristol. 2.5 hours not really worth it for a fiver!:-D
#14
I've just come back from doing a boot sale where I was selling all my books for 20p!!!!!!!
#15
In the paper it said excluding Edinburgh store. If you're not near an Ikea it probably isn't worth the long drive - you'll just come back with a boot full of stuff you don't really need. The meatballs are yummy though - hope the £5 can be spent in the foods bit.
#16
Minimum of five books sounds as if no matter how many you take, you get a £5 gift card.
#17
Where do i take the books? Ikea or a Save The Children shop?
Please help as link on ikea website does not state.
Also can i give for example 5 books and then go back in with another 5 and recieve £5 gift card both times?
Thanks in advance :)
#18
got a save the children and ikea nearby so might give this a go
#19
This is a great idea, I love Ikea :)
#20
Take your whole family! Looking at ordering a kitchen soon so with enough trips and enough people should be able to cut down the cost a bit! Lol
#21
This is a ploy to convert your books into Ikea furniture!

:D
#23
As above, any info as to where to take the books to would be great :)
#24
Not that great really. What will happen is that you can only get a £5 gift card and if you get your family to get £5 gifts cards it doesnt really matter, because you cant use all the gift cards on one item. Suppose its ok for getting cheap tat and maybe food(if thats even possible)
#25
thanks
#26
Great, I've got loads of holiday reads to go
#27
just called up IKEA and apparently they are confused themselves and waiting to get confirmation on "Where to take the Books ?" so even THEY don't know. will drop in tomorrow and send any relevant feedback
#28
i think maye the £5 can only be used when u spend over a certain amount!!!
#29

my partner has been into Coventry today, and they know nothing!
Its supposed to start today. Grrrr!
#37
I can't vote something hot if the link doesn't work - it shows laziness on the submitters part. Voted cold.
#38
Just Rang Coventry and they confirmed that you take books to customer services at an IKEA store. Also only one giftcard per person. Hope this helps :)
#39
can u use any book
#40
