do they do a double size frame

Im almost certail that they would, they had a superking on display. Check the website maybe? Not sure whether the price would be as cheap, but worth a look.

They have double, king and super king versions of this. I bought 2 SK beds from Gateshead a few weeks ago and these beds are rather good. It is worth nothing this offer is for the frame, slats (2x) and the support.

Great find!

Now if only Ikea would recognise UK size houses and UK size King ie 150cm which they persistently ignore :x

Good deal. If only I needed a bed. I have similar model and it's lovely. Lots of space to thrash about.

Anyone know if this is just in the clearance area or a general offer available from Ikea stores nationwide?

This wasnt in the clearance bargain area, it was just in the main Bed section. Hadn't yet been marked up as on sale but the employee checked the system and it was on the system as half price.

Bit of a ****** that the cheapest super king mattress was £250 though!

There was another bed in there at half price too, had a horizontal slatted headboard and was £74 for the super king.

Obviously this is a way to get impulse buyers to end up needing to buy a Super King mattress which is where they make their real money, and as stated Ikea use non UK sizes so you pretty much have to buy the mattress from them.

You can probably buy a just as good if not better King bed for around £300 elsewhere so its not really great value. Unless for some reason you want a bed without a mattress?

Surprised that this came with the slats. I brought the same bed online and didn't read the small print which stated that the slats were sold seperately. (not good when you only realise this at 10pm when you've nearly finished putting the damn thing together!)

The bonus was that the slats were on offer in store for £9.00 each (Lakeside) so 2 packs (required for king size and doubles) came up cheaper than 1 pack at web price:thumbsup:.

Very good price and a sturdy bed.

we bought a king size frame recently from Ikea. Really nice frame was £160 now £35 (bargain corner) didn't realise it was king until we got home. Searched high and low for a decent mattress to suit but was like £100 extra for the extra 10cm.

Ended up getting a UK king mattress direct from a factory.. the 10 cm is not noticable at all. Avoid the crappy Ikea mattress on offer for £120.. they sound hollow.

Anyway, great price but make sure you get a good mattress. I can highly recommend this guy for mattresses and other goods http://www.jpbeds.com/ . We paid £180 for a king size mattress. Quality is excellent and very comfortable. Delivery was free within London and he even help lug it up 2 flights of stairs. Similar mattress in the shops was £260 at least!

Think you also need the headboard or the sliding drawer type headboard to go wth it. Coul e a good buy for someone already with a superking size bed (and mattress) who wants to change decor

Superking size is 6ft wide so should be able to get mattress from anywhere. The problems are with their double and king size which are metric european size beds not UK size. You can have mattresses made to any size though even though this is generally more expensive

I got caught out in a similar way, bought the slats but forgot to buy the centre beam they attach too. Same as you I'd built it so had nowhere to sleep so had to go all the way back to the shop to get it. I got them to pay for my parking though as was not particularly happy about having to make a 60 mile round trip for it. Silly its not included, fair enough about the slats as there are several options but the centre beam is not an optional extra and there is no multiple choice.

Any one know if this is available nationwide? edmonton/lakeside?

As in the OP, the £64 offer comes with slats and midbeam. The frame alone was priced at £20.

And as has been said in previous posts, the superking is 180x200 which is the same as normal superking sizes.

Not sure what the post about the headboard and sliding drawers is about though?!

This is a great price for a superking frame but i would not buy an ikea superking mattress. They come as two seperate mattresses that you zip together in a cover. I have had and returned both the superking size they sell as within a few weeks a dip develops were the two mattresses meet in the middle

the guys website and wording isn't great but I stand by his products 100%. Having shopped around for the last 2 weeks for mattresses and learning about all types of mattresses and prices I'm extremely happy with the product and service received.

This guy mainly operates from Gumtree and is simply a middleman between the manufacturer and the end user. Simple concept.. cut out the middle man. He simply drives a truck around dropping off mattresses all day every day.. no overheads ... anyway, site isn't much chop but the products are.

My bad - the sliding drawers are for the 160 cm wide one only (king not superking) and is certainly optional

Looks like they sell a headboard to fit to the wall so assumed you need it for this bed but appears not - not quite sure how that works then!

Littlewoods sell their mattresses at these sizes as that is where we got our miracoil mattress for this bed.

Just called them up and they told me they've run out of all stock of this bed on offer. Everything else similar in stock is full price.

They said this particular model, the WHITE Malm beds, were on offer as they were being discontinued.
