ikea pax sliding doors £4.99

1st post so I hope this is ok!
I was in Ikea Gateshead this morning and got a great deal on some pax sliding wardrobe doors they were the heimdal ones which were reduced from £179 to £4.99. The girl on the checkout had to call her supervisor as she thought it was a mistake but was told they are being discontinued so are selling them off cheap! I got the 238cm height ones which are 150cm wide, and at that price I got 2!!!!!! The price includes the runners and fixings, all you have to buy seperatly are the frames and interiors and they did have some offers on some frames too, there were other sizes available and a couple of other styles reduced too (although mine had the biggest reduction)
This is a great opportunity to get a huge, quality wardrobe at a greatly reduced price as the doors are normally the most expensive bit.
this is instore only and not sure if its national but gateshead had about 13 sets left this morning.
Really hope this helps someone
I do have the receipt as proof but not got a clue how to add a pic of it -Sorry!

These are an alluminium frame whith a semi transparent main door, they were on the front of the 2008 catalogue if thats any help and there was a guy selling some second hand on ebay if you want a look- item number 170431379790

i think they did have the 201cm in the sale but think they were £9.99 a pair!

this is the old price but you can see the style of the doors. These were £19.99 in Ikea Nottingham so it looks like they have been reduced again.

Great bargain if you have 150 or 200 wide wardrobes, we have 150 and am considering.

thats right, My father in law send me a pic message te other day and couldnt make out it it was perspex or glass.

Mine do not have doors at all at the moment and so these may be better than nothing

If they are translucent your room will still look a mess after you've closed them.

Brilliant price if you don't care though (or are obscenely tidy!).
#10
Neither do mine, but couldnt be bothered with the hassle of fitting them then taking them back off when I find ones I want more :)

Each to their own taste though!
#11
would be perfect for me as mine have no doors either, not sure how i would get them home though

I paid for delivery just cos I had the baby with me so was more hassle than its worth to squeeze them in and TBH- still cheaper than buying the cheap argos rubbish that we have now!!

They did have a couple of other styles on sale too but none quite this cheap - some around £19.99 which is still great!

the 201cm ones should squeeze in a decent sized car, i paid 3o quid for delivery but that includes them lifting them into the room of your choice and as I was buying frames too - its worth it to save the back ache!

Thanks Walker 1627 :)

I have a Focus, but a wife and child also, don't think i could get away with going to Ikea and not taking them!!

Might do though, might give them a ring to see if they have any left in Nottingham

Rep left by the way, really good first spot :)

I was in Thurrock and Edmonton stores on Monday and they only had the taller doors there, at £39 a pair if anyone was wondering.

40 quid a pop in coventry... and they do make your bedroom look like a 1970s doctor's reception, but nice deal but make sure you've got the clearance... (i've found the 236cm height is just too tight for a modern sized room as you only get about a centrimetre clearance to the ceiling and that isn't enough to screw the runners onto the cab tops).

presume ikea branches don't price match with each other?
#19
How much are the frames that these doors fit on x
banned#20
How much are the other bits?

Anyone checked Ashton?

Good deal, vote hot!

does anyone know if you could potentially add this to a self built wardrobe?

My missus' brother is going to build us a wardrobe for our spare room and these would be perfect size etc if so.

Also give a shout if anyone is at the Glasgow Ikea and spots them, I was going to pop in tomorrow.

£69.99 in ashton and warrington :( will be speaking to the manager tomorrow to see if he'll price match so if enough of us mither him you never know....

got red ones from gateshead last week for £9.99 201cm high x 100cm wide, still had some in on sunday gone.
#28
got mine from lakeside, £39. 201cm x 2m wide, yes they are translucent, no they wont price match local only deals, but even at this price its a good deal, will work well in a self build as they include a rail

i once ordered a pax set to be delivered at a cost of £60 - i was then able to source a large car so i could pick them up - IKEA dont give a full refund if you have a change of mind - they take an admin fee back ! point to note!

it looks like its only in gatehead. phoned a few branches and there all showing £39.
but to be honest i know its an absolute bargain at a fiver in gateshead if you need wardrobes but you might want to just spend a bit more and have some nicer ones cos these really do look tacky
#33
Shame only gateshead!!
#34
I went in on tuesday to the gateshead store but they did not seem to have any 201cm ones left. I nearly picked up the 238cm ones but they would not have fitted into my house. :(

Bought some Pax Heimdal from Ikea Leeds yesterday for £19.99 for the 200 x 236 doors. They had all three sizes in - two were 19.99 and one size was 49.99 (sorry can't remember which).

They also had Pax Ardal glass doors on sale reduced from 300.00 each to 49.99 (Green) and 99.99 (Blue and Grey). That was for the 200 x 236 size also.

I just bought the grey glass (150 (2x75) x 236) ones for £99.99 a pair, reduced from £350 supposedly, in Leeds. The salesperson checked availability and reckoned they had 18 in stock, but sold 16 pairs last week atthis price.

Saw the corrugated plastic ones but they look awful to me. Green and blue would be too decor specific. Carcasses were £55 each (you need two). Was about to start a thread but found this in a search.

We were gonna spend about £450 on a similar set-up, but this just cost us £210, although we need to add some internal fixings to that.
