From Monday to Friday until 24 Oct Ikea are serving haddock, peas and chips in their restaurant for £2 adults and 50p for children. Cheaper than local chippie! Sorry if I have posted in wrong section. Excludes Edinburgh and Cardiff stores.

Just so that you know, we had a flyer through the door a few days ago about this offer. It says that it excludes the Edinburgh and the Cardiff stores (maybe an idea to update the op to reflect this) - The Cardiff store is the one less than 10 mins away from my house........... Great deal if you can get it though!

Great way to feed your family eh!! - why not just give them a pot of lard, would be easier, quicker and cheaper (and as nutritious!)

The meals come frozen though and you have to cook them at home.

Not sure if it matters. Me and daughter sometimes both have the childrens pasta as a quick snack and I have never been refused.
#11
you would have to be pretty desperate to eat at Ikea - worse than the worst school meal i've ever had

it's damn cheap, but you get what you pay for
#12
Typical, not the Cardiff one....poop!

Surely 4 kids portions is bigger than a adult portion?

What a ridiculous comment to come out with!

It provides some fibre and vitamin C, a decent helping of protein and some carbohydrate for muscle glycogen levels.

I wouldnt recommend this to anybody as a healthy meal, its far from it.. but maybe certain posters should think before they post absolute garbage.. even if it was meant for effect.

:thumbsup:Great Deal.

Heat and Rep Added.

Off Topic, I absolutely love their Meatballs and Chips with that awesome gravy, always buy it from, the Swedish shop by the tills, if you have that at your local of course.

Mine is Wednesbury, West Midlands.

Anyways, I remember when they had an offer of a Childs Meatball and Chips Portion for like, 35p so I grabbed 4 :-D

But now the prices are well expensive for adult portions, it's cheaper to buy a pack of meatballs from the shop, shame really.

Back on topic, nice find, Fish and Chips FTW!

Sorry, completely wrong there. I used to work in Marketing at IKEA - the meals are fully cooked and available only in the main restaurant along with the meatballs, salmon, pasta, cakes, cider, soup etc, that you can get on any other day.

The reason it's not available in some stores is because they have autonomy and can choose their own offers and prices, as such they get excluded from national offers like this one.

> Cheaper than local chippie!

Does your chippie sell Ikea food though? I'd prefer (the more expensive) fish from my chippie to the stuff they call food at Ikea any day.

Are the fish free range.. ?did they have enough room to swim around in ? have they been looked after and tucked in at night? Answer no to any of these and I'm not buying..after all fish are mammals just like you and me !! ;-)

Taken from the bleeding hearts on the chicken deal !!!

And what about the poor old chips? Are they chipped from real potatoes, or formed from reconstituted potato mash? :-D

The ikea fish has never seen water although it surprisingly tastes ok.
