CoolNewMobile and Phonebox, are they the same company?

Thanks

Coolnewmobile & Phoneboxdirect are managed by Mobile Affiliates Ltd.

Mobile Affiliates Ltd is affiliated to Dextra Solutions Ltd which is a part of Caudwell Group.

Caudwell Group manages many companies including Phones4U

#5
The new claim form is sent when you next receive your claim. It also asks for the original bill now instead of a copy.
#6
CNM never accepted a copy. They want originals and wont accept internet bills either.

Claim form hasnt changed, only the postal address.
#7
is Dave your mate, edi?

Not quite... Caudwell just supply Phones4U and CoolNewMobile. They don't have any actual relation. ;-)

Thanks for the info Edi!! Let's hope everyone on a contract finds out about it!! 8)

I posted my second CNM claim today and spotted the new address. Called CNM to confirm this and my call was passed on to this Dave (in-charge of CNM claims).

BTW, CNM moved to the new address last month.

Enough explanation hotdealseeker ?

This is a bit sneaky of them isn't it? How were we supposed to find this out? I had filled in all my forms ready to send off when I got the appropriate bills. You guys just keep saving me money!
#11
Argh I've just sent off a claim the other day.
Will it be processed ok?
#12
CNM says there is some arrangement to forward the claims to the new address. But with just 30 days period to make a claim and if the recorded delivery is signed for elsewhere and then forwarded to the new PO Box address, this adds to the risk.

With sites like CNM its better to get it right in the first attempt. :)

Just phoned the cashback claims dept (08700429066)and they gave me a different address again !!

The address the lady told me to post them to is :-

MOBILE AFFILIATES Ltd
Claims Dept.
PO Box 8896
Bingham, Nottingham
NG13 8XT

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
#14
Maybe they have 2 PO boxes right next to each other???
#15
Thanks for the feedback JP

The CoolNewMobile cashback form can be accessed here : Claim Form -PDF

Spoke to CNM now and they advised to go with the one printed in the cashback claim form. Sadly, the person I spoke to didnt have a clue of PO Box 8896. :(

I'll stick to what is printed in the claim form ;-)

Hi 'edi' your post was a huge help. So much so, I have registered to this website in order to tell you so.

Unfortunately I have some bad news for all people wishing to use there cashback claims forms for 'Mobile affiliates'.

I called up the above number, only to be redirected to the customer service department, because there are apparently twenty 'Daves' that work for the company. Anyway, I have been informed that...

... the company MOBILE rubbish AFFILIATES have gone into LIQUIDATION and I (along with all of you) will no longer be recieveing any CASH BACK! That's 400+ pounds I have lost. I am a student, and this is not good news for me.

I intend to see how many people post a reply to this message, and see how many people it has affected before compiling a complaints form to... WATCHDOG (or similar companies) to try and get some kind of compensation.

What I can not believe is that if the cashbackclaim form hadn't of been redirected to me and I hadn't called the number at the top of this post, I would not have found out any of this!

THIS IS THE BIGGEST DISASTER, and now I'm stuck in a contract for another 8months which considering the amount of money I am paying for the number of minutes I am recieving is terrible as contracts go.

I hope this helps you all, and I'm so sorry to be the one to deliver this bad news.

BEST OF LUCK ALL.

not again, I was with mobile connections and had 2 contracts. I lost my cashback. Some thing should be done to stop companies from doing this- they get the easy option of liquidation while we get nothing. Its not fair. :x

TO ALL KNOWN CUSTOMERS Our ref PML/RG/RD/IB/ADM0307/MOBI101/102/H Dear Sirs Mobile Affiliates Limited t/a Coolnewmobile and Phones2yourdoor - InAdministration Birmingham County Court No. 5302 of 2007 Mobile Media Systems Limited t/a Phoneboxdirect - In Administration Birmingham County Court No. 5303 of 2007 I would advise you that I was appointed Administrator of the abovecompanies jointly with my partner Alistair Steven Wood by thedirectors on 14 November 2007. I am authorised to act as anInsolvency Practitioner by the Department of Trade & Industry and mypartner is authorised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants inEngland & Wales. The companies have ceased trading and their offices are now closed. The statutory purpose of an Administration consists of threeobjectives: · rescuing the company as a going concern; · achieving a better result for the company’s creditors as awhole than would be likely if the company were wound-up (withoutfirst being in Administration); · realising property in order to make a distribution to one or moresecured or preferential creditors; Within eight weeks (or such longer period as the court may allow) ofthe date of the Administration Order, I am required to prepareproposals which I will publish on the Joint Administrators’ websitewww.phoneboxdirectinformation.com. As Joint Administrator I am not in a position to pay any amounts dueby the company in respect of contractual obligations entered prior tothe date of the Administration Order. Following my appointment customers have requested a response to twospecific questions namely: · Recovery of cash backs due from the company. · Contractual obligations with the network provider. As far as the cash back is concerned my current estimate is thatthere are over 30,000 customers who may be eligible to make cash backclaims. My current estimate of this liability is between 4-10million. The companies’ assets are less than 250,000. It followstherefore, that after the payment of the expenses of theadministration and the preferential creditors (wages and holiday payowed to the employees) it is unlikely that there will be fundsavailable for unsecured creditors. Turning to the second matter, I am unable to comment on acustomer’s contractual position with their network provider, customers must therefore, either speak to the network providerdirectly, take legal advice or contact their local Citizens AdviceBureau or Trading Standards Office. The network providers and/ortheir agents should not be referring you back to me. Please refer to the Joint Administrators’ websitewww.phoneboxdirectinformation.com which will be posted with furtherupdates for the benefit of customers and creditors. This website hasbeen set-up to enable you to record your claim against the relevantcompany. Please do not write to my office to submit your claim aswritten communications will not be acknowledged. Yours faithfully For and on behalf of Mobile Affiliates Limited & Mobile Media Systems Limited P M Lyon Joint Administrator Authorised to act as an insolvency practitioner by the Department ofTrade and Industry The affairs, business and property of the Company are being managedby the Joint Administrators. The Joint Administrators act as agentsof the Company and without personal liability.

I never got my claim because they conned me out of it anyway.

I'm glad they've gone out of business, it couldn't have happened to a more deserving bunch of tossers.

Its a sad day 4 me. I to am a sufferer of this tragedy. second time I have been stung by this cashback lark. When they emailed me that my cheque was on the way, I usually followed it up as otherwise they would not send it. anyway I put it on the backburner, and look what happened eh. At least I got 4/5 back which was better than last time where I got nothing and no phone.

I have to say when e-mailed they did reply promptly. I thought this company was legit, as it lasted a long time with updated deals.

On a more synical note. These businesses are built on people forgetting to claim back.
Do these people not know of the existence of HOTUKDEALS.COM!!!

Cashback is our Middlename:shock:

Thats my little rant 4 the Day. Bring on the new Year

Both Phonebox direct and Cool New Mobile are trading names of Mobile Affiliates limites, who are now in administration with debts of £4m - £10m and you are unlikely to get any cash back according to the administrators.

Check this web site for more information and submit your claim to the administrator (but don't expect much, if anything).

I contacted T Mobile about my cashback. They said it was not their responsibility but offered a goodwill discount of £5/month on my plan.

Sorry for the bad news........ :x

To all those who have been stung by cashback not being honoured i noticed a forum thread on moneysupermarket.com. A company based in bradford called DMC are claiming they are helping people who have been stung get their cashback. Worth a shot. I've told a few friends so far. Not sure if they have managed to get their cashback yet though.
#26
thats the DMC website by teh way. sorry forgot to include in last post

I got ripped off with Mobile Outlet with cashback. They claimed I didn't include page 2 of my last claim and also said that they received it after due date even though I have proof of send!

They held back on a claim I did 3 months before that one and now say I forfit any of the cashback even though I got an email to say that one was successful.

After countless phone calls, all I get is cashback team will get in touch and of coarse, never do!

I've given in, never again! Lost out on £216

I suspect that it was this companies and many others intention to do this! Too many rip off merchants...

looks like the bubbles burst. mobiles2yourdoor seems fine at least but i notice there's no 12/12 deals. only 11 months on a 12 month contract. so a samsung for £40. if you remenber to cancel after the contract that is.

i really hope everyone gets the money they're owed. its a lot of money to lose esecially at this time of year so good luck.

Guys Keep clear of cool new mobiles and all other companies associated with cool new mobiles. They dont like to pay cashback. They will make every excuse that you cant even think about.
I lost all my cashback.
Address change is another trick not to pay the cashback.
Just type cool new mobile reviews or look at money supermaket web site.
Please tell your friends relatives to stay clear of cool new mobiles and associates.

Not sure of the purpose of this post, but coolnewmobile / phoneboxdirect went bust last November and their website have not existed since so it would be hard to deal with them now.

If you have just realised that you have lost your cashback - thats why!
