Anyone remember the original game from 25 years ago?
I love this version, very addictive!

It's hard to believe that it was twenty-five years since the original release. Impossible Mission was the first game to use real synthesized speech, an incredible development when first unleashed on the 8-bit formats. The original game included a random game-map system which ensured that no two games were the same. Although the original still stands the test of time today, inclusion of brand new graphics and sound ensures that Impossible Mission is primed to thrill a brand new audience.

The gamer takes the role of a secret agent attempting to stop evil genius Professor Elvin Atombender who has been tampering with National Security Computers. Players must penetrate Atombender's base, attempting to recover parts of the system password whilst avoiding deadly robots in a race against time.

Whilst the game has been re-written from the ground up and features new graphics, 3D objects, new Sound Effects and Music, the gameplay remains impressively loyal with the game layout changing for every new game. There are now three main characters to choose from plus a brand new tutorial mode. The player can now chose from three game modes, new, original and for the purist; a hybrid mode with the original gameplay using the updated graphics.

The PSP versions offer an unusual feature which allows players to send a full copy of their game to a friend by Wireless so they can try it for themselves.

Brand new and shrink-wrapped with quick delivery too. Only 277 left so be quick and get your copy!

Never had a problem with The Game Collection.

I am one that is proudly old enough to remember the original, fantastic game, played this on the DS and it features new graphics or you can play the old skool original.

One of the 8 bit classics that is still playable in this day and age, the C64 version for its time was astounding.

I agree. it was the first C64 game with speech, which for 8-bit technology was a major breakthrough.

Then Ghostbusters and Robocop followed as games with speech in them. I remember hearing speech for the first time and it was like, WOW! lol We blew Speccy gamers out the water!

Kids today don't know what they've missed out on as every game today is basically the same. We had ground-breaking technology way back when. (I sound like my dad, and I'm only 37! lol)

I've still got my Commodore 64......and it still works! Shame you have wait 3 minutes for a game to load. I remember having one game that took 19 minutes to load. 19 MINUTES! Can you imagine todays gaming society sitting patiently for a game to load for that length of time? No, me neither!

Those were the days...............

Don't own a C64 anymore, but I have a few Amigas, just putting one together now with external cd rom drive a nice 68040 40 mhz processor, and 32mb ram lol. Oh and a pcmcia network card.

If you are at all interested being in the same age group, this book I heartily recommend....

lol, another excited child of the 80's!

You won't be disappointed with it. it is just like the original but just be gentle on the PSP controllers, otherwise like me, you'll have run out of time before you know it!

If you didn't get killed too easily you had 6 hours to complete this game, in real-time too but you lose time when the robots get you. Sneaky them robots so watch out for em!

I always struggled with the darned puzzle pieces, changing the colours, flipping them over, getting the pieces to all match up.

I remember playing it on the C64 and being 10 seconds away from putting the last piece together and the timer ran out. I had to start all over again! Oh the frustration when you are 12 years old!

And your point is?
Play the game and then tell me whether it's good or not.
I have bought games on the back of a good review and been disappointed with them to say the least.

You find a genre you like and you buy games to suit. You'll more than likely find that the people who lefts low scores didn't play the original game from the 80's so therefore won't understand what it is about.

It is not a blow em up, see how many soldiers we can kill in a minute, or how many cars can we steal or how many hoodies can I get in my gang type of a game.

It's just a simple put the puzzles together type of a game with the added twist in that you have to avoid wandering robots who zap time off you. The reason it probably wasn't liked is because if you die in this game, you have to start again, not like today's games were if you die you just carry on from where you slayed.

Look at the people who have left comments so far, everyone who played it loved it. Enough said.

Did you know that 80% of stats are incorrect?
