Most of HUKD folk know about how tom save the delivery fee (£4.85) by adding a sim card to your basket and the whole order is the delivered free.

What I didn't know is that if you choose the 2 hour (timed delivery) slot (£6.85) it will give you this for free too. No more waiting indoors for tesco to arrive somewhen.

Maybe this is common knowledge but I didn't know and thought I'd share it.

Edit - not sure if this goes under deals or not....

The op is saying that not only can you get standard delivery free when you purchase a sim card (which costs less than the cost of delivery so saving you some money) but you can also get the more expensive 2 hour delivery timed service free as well.
#3
Heh Heh! Like it.

I've been doing this for ages, so can confirm it works without problems.
#5

Some of the SIM cards on the Tesco direct site say "Free Delivery on selected SIM cards" in their description.

If you add one of these to your basket, your entire order is delivered for free.

What this poster is saying is that you can also choose the more expensive "2 hour slot" delivery option and get that for free too.

It's letting me. Maybe they have run out of slots in your area? The earliest delivery date for me was Thursday.

I think the premium delivery is dependent on what you order and the area you live in which could be why its not coming up for you.

You're supposed to return the sim card at your local Tesco store for a refund.
#23
Or phone them and they collect it free

My nearest was Thursday aswell, but it is good to know as can get it the time i want if i need to pop out etc

Items delivered with standard delivery usually seem to turn up by courier, whereas the premium delivery is done by drivers on the grocery rounds, so availability of slots for premium delivery would seem to depend on how busy your local Tesco is (and whether you live within range of a home delivery Tesco - rare now I would imagine).

try "sim card" instead of "simcard"?

Tried this for the first time last week when I discovered something I wanted to order, having just placed another order over £25 (which qualifies from free delivery anyway)

Glad to hear you can return the sim cards for a refund!

Anyone have any experience on how often you can do this free delivery "trick" before they start complaining? Or is it purely a question of how many times you can look the staff in your local Tesco in the face while returning another sim card?

This is for Tesco DIRECT. Enter "SIM" in the search field. Choose a £2.47 Tesco Sim and add to basket. At checkout select Premium Delivery. Will be deducted at payment stage.

Tesco`s home delivery drivers will only bring stuff up to 20KG (for H&S Reasons), and within the standard catchment area for groceries.

I thought everyone knew this? So heat & Rep to OP for enlightening those who didn`t.

Just worked for me, cheers, with a 2hr delivery slot booked for Thurs. How do I add heat/rep to this?

I've been doing this ever since I found out about the sim card trick ages ago on here, thought it had always been premium as well. Ah well.

In which case why not get the goods delivered for free to your local Tesco and collect them there. Seems a much easier option to me than having to wait in for the stuff to be delivered and then having to troll off to Tesco to return the sim card or am I missing summat?

Add rep by pressing the scales to the left of the op's name and follow prompts:thumbsup:

thats exactly what I was thinking :) only really of use for people that may not have a car for example to carry heavy stuff and rely on bus trips - but even so....
