Which is why I posted the £1.49 version as the deal and mentioned this one if you have a non 3G phone! Thought that was clear? Oh well.........

Which is why I corrected my question but you didn't quote that. Oh well.......

or alternatively buy one of these and charge any of your usb devices on the go for 80p

Bought it from Prepaymania via Amazon last time and its not a very good fit at all, very tight to push in and does not lock into the bottom of my 3gs. Im not going to use it as i dont want to damage my phone.

Erm, that would 80p + £4 p&p

Thanks nice :)

you should really only use genuine accessories on your equipment as a lot of this cheap stuff can damage your goods. It also makes any insurance/warrenties void (i think).

So what I didn't mention p&p I didn't mean specifically THAT device from THAT seller just to emphasize the point that many might be better off doing that rather than buying a cable for each specific device, even paying £4 delivery if you're then not buying 3 or 4 other cables then it's still a saving, no?

But if you want to be pedantic about matching a price then this is a similar price

220669010903 on a popular auction site, which is a buy it now for 99p with 89p postage

All I was trying to do was to show people that there MIGHT be a better alternative than buying a cable that does ONE job but hey

They have these in Poundland at the moment.

Voted hot. Apple can easily charge £££ for car charger (and people will still buy it), anything under a tenner is a deal, and this one at £1.49 definitely a deal. However I don't understand why the hell anything that has to do with iStuff (iPhone, iPad, iPod etc) is almost double priced then other phone's charger. iStuff are technically half qualified compared to other phones like Samsung/HTC.

Check this post for similar charger from Amazon for http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/in-car-mobile-phone-charger-for-sam/761700

I know this comment has no relevance to the deal, just a thought. I can see Apple fans army marching to me. :-)

To be honest I find these a much neater solution to the large bulky cigarette sockets that wobble and flex and break the contact

https://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.40470

Just use your existing lead.

As for non-Apple stuff...well they all just use a simple voltage/current regulator chip inside and Apple only buy the parts like anyone else!

cold. loads on ebay for 99p, have one myself and it's worked a treat.

LOL.... So you "think" it might cause damage! Is this what Apple told you or your insurance company?

I was told by a very good resourse that certain cheap products can damage your products, not just apple stuff but any phones. You carry on having a laugh mate.
It's the warrenties/insurance that won't pay out when it happens. {{{LOL}}}

What, with a cigarette lighter plug?

The only ones I've seen in poundland are the standard apple plug to usb, the cigarette lighter usb socket is another £1. And my local doesn't have any of either anyway.

Nice find guv.

My advice would be to purchase an original Apple car charger or something made by a decent manufacturer. After a recent bad experience from a cheap car charger ..phone died 2 mins after plugging it in!
As luck would have it i still had 3 week warranty left.So they replaced the iphone..never mentioned the dodgy charger.
Take the advice spend a couple of extra quid..your phones worth it!...without my iphone i was lost :(
