I would typically buy a machine that can handle a larger load capacity, so I would not buy this model, but looks like a good deal for everybody else.

"Heat" added.

Cant fault the price... but not a reliable manufacturer of a washing machine. Suitable for a single person or a couple..wouldnt buy this for a family dont think it would handle daily usage to well

...or Hotpoints are now Indesit's which I would generally avoid... who knows it's a lottery anyway. Suprised that a 1200 spin and that capacity could be over £300 in the first place, seems to be dear for what it is and probably around £20-30 below it's market value now.

We bought this great Daewoo one on sale for £199.99 (5% off code & quidco also) at comet posted here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/565451/daewoo-dwdg20d1-washing-machine-8kb it didn't get much heat, which i can't understand as its fantastic machine for the price and is A energy rated, lcd display ,has a 8kg load drum which is perfect for families, and it even plays a little tune when you turn it on :w00t: very pleased with it :-D

not any more hotpoint and all of those made by the indesit company are all hopeless. Take this from some one who had two dishwashers in 2 years, 2 washing machines in 3 and 2 tumble dryers. Hotpoint couldnt care less.

We have this washer and it's lasted us ages & still going strong. Just the 2 of us and a baby and it's on every single day!

Why did it take you so many appliances to decide this? If I had bought two dishwashers in two years I wouldn't have bought anything else from the same manufacturer!

Ever thought the problem may be you, not Hotpoint? ;)

What do you have now?

I have a Hoover VHD944D-W (9kg 1400 spin [in White]) Washing Machine that runs at least three loads a day, every single day. Had it just over 12 months... not something to brag about... but it did come with a 5 year guarantee.

I bought it from The Co-op Electrical Shop on 17 December 2008 for £347.89. I see today it is now being sold at £415.09!

Hotpoint are listed as one of the least reliable brands in the UK today, just surprising to keep buying them if they are so bad !!

Mine's not much over 3, and even in that time the models are different now! (also no problems, used about 10 times a week) The warranty was only 5 years on mine, some of the dearer models at the time had 10 year warranties, but they were a bit TOO expensive in terms of big initial outlay.

Don't ever buy Indesit. There's a letter missing in their name.

We had a Zannussi for 10 years, when it dies we bought an Indesit which died after 18 months. Never again.

Oh, the missing letter is "H" - which goes right after the S. You work it out.
#21
We have a Hoover AM110, and it's been used every day (sometimes twice) for 8 years and is still going strong. I wont be looking at any other manufacterer when it finally dies.

Had our indesit washing m/c for 12 years now, an the only thing that as gone wrong with it is the brushes, which i easily replaced about 4-5 years ago now which cost about £15 i think. It's on every other day! family of 4.

A common mistake, that a lot of manufacturers seem to rely on... Past History - you will find Hoover is not a name you would use in polite company any more :-(
eg. my last Hoover tumble drier lasted 14 months, and it was so noisy when it was working, I was actually HAPPY to see it go bang!

Eventually companies like this will run out of customers... even British Leyland, with a whole series of renames and advertising finally ran out of new punters being born who hadn't been bitten, or had friends that hadn't been bitten, although it took a good few years - people eventually learn :-)

On many machines now, it is just not so easy as it used to be :-(

Even if a machine is under guarantee, its not exactly convenient having an unreliable machine - my last machine, an Ariston was so bad, I was on first name terms with the repairman, and it clearly cost more than I actually paid for the machine - I actually got rid of that while it was still within 18 months to go on the 5 year guarantee - it had bust so often, and I got totally fed up with a catalogue of nuisances like clearing out soaking clothes in the bath so often, as well as being more than bothered by the ALARMING leaping around the floor, and noise so loud it was PAINFUL to be in the same room!

Now, more than 3 years of quiet peace with a Siemens, (Same room, same floor, same everything!) although don't get the idea that I am smitten, I know even this isn't going to last forever! :-(

our last 2 washing machines were indesit and only lasted 2 and half years each!

Our one broke just before xmas (19th Dec), we knew the problem so hubby rang for a spare part to be told that if we want it before xmas we would have to pay £13 extra for delivery. We told them what we needed and paid the extra as we needed a machine. It arrived on the 22nd only to have half of the part missing. Rang them up to be told they cant sell us all the part as the other bit was to do with wiring and we would have to have an engineer out to look at it then buy the part and pay for him to do the work. I asked why they never told me that in the begining for the lady to go quiet and said i can have a refund if i wanted. I agreed to the refund on the 22nd Dec and STILL waiting for indesit to ring me with a returns number as was told i can not return it without!!! They keep telling me the computer is down!!

Never ordering an indesit again!

was in a hurry this morning when I wrote that, basically bought new appliances for a new kitchen, comet replaced all of them within a year after a battle so I didnt pay twice for them, both dishwasher and washer flooded our new kitchen. A year later when the washer snapped two bolts just out of warranty Hotpoint told us it wasnt a manufacturing fault and to get lost :( the dishwasher gave up less than a year later and we ended up cutting our losses and buying a Siemens one, more expesive but worth it in the long run and wouldnt waste the cash on any of this rubbish again.

Hotpoint and Indesit = Ariston
Terrible products, and even worse after-sales service. Engineer visited me 5 times in 6 months, lied through his teeth on at least 3 occasions.

We had a similar issue with replacing items after a house fire. Our landlord wasn't too pleased either! :)

I think we had to buy from Currys. Not a great selection & we didn't get the same quality of "white goods" in exchange (regardless of the "like for like" policy terms). I think the whole process took nearly 8 months to complete too. Insurance Companies are keen to take your money but not so keen to return it, it would seem :)

Replacing everything in our kitchen in the same month or so also meant that almost every appliance failed within the same period too. That wasn't a great time for our usual disposable income.

Thanks for the tip with the Siemens kit for future purchases.
