Not quite a feast, but a pretty good deal - Sainsbury's do the nicest supermarket curries, I reckon.

Have some heat from me.

For future posts, it's good practice to put the price and retailer in the title.
#2
Cheers, have amended the title as you said.

I love these deals but it seems a bit pricy, compared with Asdas deal and Tescos recently?? Tescos one was delicious. Somerfield are doing their indian meals for 2 for £5 reduced from £7, I just bought one to try.

Voted hot anyway! :)

Normally go for the Indian meal for two in a box for £6.99.
E.g.
Sainsbury's Chicken Makhani / Jalfrezi Meal For 2
Chicken makhani. Medium.
&
Chicken jalfrezi. Hot.
1 x 3 Colour pilau rice.
6 Onion bhajia. Mild.
2 Naan bread.
OR
Sainsbury's Butter Chicken / Korma Meal For 2
OR
Sainsbury's Indian Tikka / Korma Meal for Two

Like that you get to choose from a big selection of sides with this offer though.

Sainsburys Chicken Madras is great , worth paying a bit more compared to Asdas

chicken korma mmmmmmmmm

why can't sainsburys be open 24 hours like tescos?
Im hungry now!
#7
Sainsburys butter chicken is the BEST supermarket curry imo
#8
I buy one of these curries every now and again for lunch. It's usually roughly £5 for a single curry + rice, and they're damn tasty! So twice that for £7 is a very good deal as far as I'm concerned - lunch tomorrow! Heat added

Looked at this the other day at Sainsbury's but it just seemed another attempt to make people overbuy. We bought enough for our meal for less (a prawn puri, a fish curry and some lamb samosas) and didn't end up with extra dishes that we ended up throwing away. This deal is fine if you were going to buy that much food anyway, otherwise it seems another supermarket enducement to buy more than you need.

Best supermarket curries by a long way IMHO.

Not that great a deal, but they are really nice

Actually Morrisons' own-brand curries are by the same manufacturers (http://www.noon.co.uk) -- in fact last time I was there, they were selling the Tandoori Chicken Sizzler that Sainsburys used to sell a few years ago.

Lidl's own-brand curries are also made by Noon -- I filled my freezer last time they were doing curry & rice for 99p...

Unfortunately my local Sainsburys doesn't sell the Bombay Brasserie ones any more -- another set of Noon curries but even nicer than the usual range IMHO.

There is some truth in that but you can freeze them, have the extra another time, TWO treats :w00t:

i went to ASDA last night and got a meal for 2 for £6.50
this came with all the trimmimgs your 2 meal of choice two rice again pick what type you want 2 garlic nan bread and then your side bits like your onion barges.

Must admit it was better then our local indain we used and half the price.
#14
My wife got us Sainsburys currys last night. Dont usually eat supermarket ready meals, but these were great. I had a vindaloo and it was nice and spicey with the chicken being of decent quality. I would pay the extra couple of quid over the ASDA meals for it without question.
Anyway the best bit was each curry was only £1 and we did our own rice at home. Bargain. :-)

They have very few choice for vegitarian in main dishes :(
#16
chicken, chicken, chicken, chicken!!!
Why no beef?
Why one lamb???
Never mind. Sainsbury's do the best supermarket curry. At least they taste of curry!!!!
Voted hot as I bought one at the weekend and it was canny

Is this from the Deli counter?

Beckton Sainsburys didn't know about it.
