Part of me died i when I saw this at the cinema. Of all the films from my childhood that I wished to see a sequel made, this was it. (well maybe goonies) Spielberg should have stuck to his guns and threw out that Lucas alien script, ditch the cgi and used optical effects and mat paintings like he said originally, used nazi's as the baddies and got John Rhys-Davies as his sidekick Sallah instead of that annoying cockney **** Ray Winstone. Still, I accept that some enjoyed it. Maybe I just couldnt see it with a childs eyes, sniff

Had potential, but they messed it up with the cheap alien plastic saucer story.

Aw, man -- I havn't seen this yet, and now I know the twist!!
#5
Not sure if I could ever take this film seriously after the South Park episode about it

Good price, awful, awful, awful movie.

Did i mention I didnt like the film!
#8
nice price i suppose, for those who liked it.

tho, i'm not sure what george lucas' problem is - first he destroys Star Wars, now Indy! grrr.....
#9
I still think this price is £5.99 too expensive (the extra pound for disposal costs)

I don't think Lucas destroyed Star Wars, he just didn't know what to do with it. The idea of starting at episode IV was justa gimic to help promote the initial Star Wars movie ... and I think that after this, Lucas started believing his own hype about there being 9 episodes. Yeah right. Had he really thought of Naboo, the trade federation and the cretinous Jar Jar Binks 30 years ago?

Lucas didn't destroy Star Wars, he just took the shine off the original trilogy. It would have been much better to have the 3 Timothy Zahn books made into sequels, but that's another argument!

He did kill Indy though!

Spoony's review was fantastic :

Film sucked but its cheap for anyone after a copy.

Absolutely abysmal film. A real let down.

Not voting though, as im sure a FEW clods will like it.

:p

joke :-D
#14
I have no idea at all how this film is managing a 6.7 score at IMDB. Absolutely terrible.
#15
I think the South Park episode "China Problem" summed it up best... ;-)
#16
sorry I'm voting this cold, I don't even think the price is warm, I'd actually hate to think that someone might buy this just because of the price, its the worst movie ever.

Thanks for this info! Hope it dont go the way of indy, Richard Donner has gone of the boil in recent years. They should do it as if it was there children who go on the adventure. then we can see chunk and the gang again grownup!

Have a look at the current issue of Empire (20th Yeatr edition with Spielberg as the guset editor) as it has a Goonies reunion. Chunk is now a lean lawyer ... no sign of the Truffle Shuffle. :w00t:

As for making another, Donner was asked and he said it wasn't going to happen.

Ridiculous story but it's a deal at that price - and kids like it.
#20
Good price....but a truly terrible movie with a ridiculous plot.

They ***** our friend and we did nothing to stop them!

(the end scene to that episode with George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and the now slightly maladjusted stormtrooper was priceless!)

I liked the film quite a lot.
Indiana Jones, come to think of it, is always about over-the-top action. Heart-popping scene from Temple of Doom? Anyone remembers?
#26
Theres over the top then theres surviving a nuclear explosion by hiding in a fridge from the 1960's
#27
If you buy this you are stark raving bonkers.. what a mega bad film and an insult to Indy.

...oh yes....I knew it was going to be crap, the moment I saw that....clearly the nuclear radiation goes away just a minute or 2 after the explosion!!!! Well done Lucas & Spielberg...great scriptwriting.

That wasn't very good but it didn't bother me too much. What irritated me far more was the comedy gophers, CGI tarzan monkeys, stupid space aliens etc...
