The Indy Collection how it should be - minus "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"...
#2
Paid £14 for this, used, a few years back, so this is hot. The missing fourth film isn't a great loss.

Are my wife and I the only people who actually thought that 'The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' was a genuinely good fun film?

No, you're not. Messrs Lucas and Spielberg thought it was good but that's about it.
#7
great price!

the only thing that troubles me ist that according to
http://www.schnittberichte.com/schnittbericht.php?ID=4643
the UK DVD version of "Temple of Doom" runs about 60 shorter than the German version.

60mins shorter?? Is there an English translation of this please?

I thought KOTCS was okay too, not as good as the previous 3 but not the debacle the internet tried to convince everyone it was...
#10
Good price - they want £35 for the quadrilogy, but you can buy this and KOTCS (if you want it) for around £14 - I sometimes wonder what logic they use for their pricing!!
#11
i'm sure there is an english version of this site... but here's a google translate showing of it.. hopefully the link will work:

60mins short? I'd be very suprised if they'd cut 6mins without me noticing?
#13
60 seconds shorter, taken mainly from the sacrifice scenes - see the website for screenshots

I quite like it - in the cinema I thought it weas stupid, and on second watch I did too, but after seeing it for a 3rd time I actually quite enjoyed it - I think you just need to see it as a film in its own right, rather than compare it with the other 3.

Hot price for these three on DVD, and then just buy the 4th on blu ray. Can't wait for 1-3 on blu has to be said!

Re cuts, if you scroll right to the bottom of this page:
http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=4155
there's a list of what's cut from the R2 version.
Grr!

Voted Hot :) Ordered a set just now, myself and my granda will have good times making our way through them!!
Thanks

Oops, sorry guys, don't know how the word SECONDS got lost in my post!

And yes, it's not much, but there are some indy fans out there that only want the completely uncut versions. Which in this case, strangely is the German version (Indy Quadrilogy from amazon.de). But that one is very expensive compared to this deal

not bad at all. heat

Indian jones and Back to the Future, classics, not forgetting E.T, Flight of the Navigator and the Goonies grew up watching all these and each time i watch them, same experience, brilliant

No. I agree. Loads of people were disappointed it wasn't as good as the first 3 but seriously what did they expect considering it's like 20 years later. It's a good film. Better than some of the crap that comes out nowadays. But the original trilogy is always gonna be the best.

Paid £25 for this back in 2007. Heat added

Agreed, went cinema to watch KOTCS and thought is was really really poor. The whole movie very average at best, but some parts just unbelievably cringeworthy. (the fridge, tarzan, indy in quick sand etc) but having seen it again on sky hd, I can honestly say it wasnt anywhere near as bad as I first thought and I actually found myself quite enjoying it. :) Hot deal btw
#22
Great deal, thanks! Don't forget Quidco ;)

Monkey brains and eyeball soup... om nom nom!
#23
Just to cheer up all the people who liked the first 3 films but hated KOTCS, there are plans for ANOTHER Indie film, but this one may well err have no Indie - his son is being brought in to 'take over' is the thought at the moment. About on par with Lucas and his cartoon comedies of Star Wars that are forthcoming...
#24
hot deal, £9.85 now though :(
#25
The cut scenes are due to the BBFC rather than George and Steven sitting down to plot against the UK - has been this way since the cinema release. I got the R1 version of this set because of this, effectively you're missing out on a few bits including seeing them extract the sacrifice's heart and seeing it still beating in the priest's hands, and Indy swearing at the guards when they hit Shorty...
#26
just ordered at £9.85,still a bargain! i've been holding out for the blu rays,at this price it would be a crime to leave it!its got the cuts,no biggie, have some much deserved heat n rep.

Plotwise, crystal skull isn't really too far removed from temple of doom.

Nuking a fridge isn't really too different from falling out a plane, and then down a mountain on a blowup dingy.

The CGI, and the little douche from transformers utterly ruined it mostly.

Still though, hoping so hard that the next movie will pull a temple of doom and be set before the previous movie chronologically. They really could do with sean connery and... oh.. lets forget denholm elliot :P Aids is bad.

I thought it was a terrible film....then the aliens arrived, and I nearly wet myself laughing!

I thought KOTLS was fairly decent. I'd easily say TOD is the weakest of the 4. Although the ending of KOTLS was a bit far fetched.

I normally can't stand The Beef (Shia) but thought he was pretty good in this flick as a Greaser.

No mate.

I thought this was a typical indie film, I really enjoyed it until the last 15 minutes.

Anyone know of a website where I can buy this and it will be posted fairly quickly? I'm being impatient and all the normal sites are sending them out after 3 days.
