Nothing cut that ruins the story (IMHO), and makes it more family friendly ...
R2 United Kingdom - (Paramount) - Yes, but ONLY in "The Temple Of Doom" (112:30 PAL).
There are 1:06 of Cuts for both Cinema and Video:
- Cuts to a close-up of a heart being ripped from the chest and the subsequent self healing of the chest wound.
- The deletion of the line "Leave him alone you *******s" when the Chinese kid is about to be whipped.
- Deletion of the Chinese Kid burning a guard's stomach with a flaming torch (and hence discovering an ability to heal).
- The sequence in which a Sacrifice Victim is being lowered into the fiery pit has been shortened and set to different music.
- Cut to the first 1s or 2s from the shot of his fall in order to delete the image of his head hitting the side of the cliff.
- The American decision to rate the film PG caused huge controversy in the US at the time. In fact, the controversy over the PG rating (which was seen by many as the MPAA caving in to Spielberg and corporate pressure) was largely responsible for the introduction of the PG-13 certificate.
- In the UK today, the UNCUT Version would now be considered as 12 or even 12/15 borderline. The PG version is still considered to be one of the stronger PGs ever certificated by the BBFC and has generated more complaints than most over the years.
**In the initial Theatrical Release of "The Last Crusade", Walter Donovan points to a Chest of Gold Items and says to the Sultan of Hatay "... donated by the finest Jewish families in Germany." In all subsequent releases of The Film, including this one, the word "Jewish" has been edited out of the dialogue.

Good find, i've never seen these films but they're top of my "to buy" list but i refuse to until i can get a good enough deal on them. Anything over £10 is still too much for what i'm willing to pay for films i haven't seen. Doesn't mean this isn't a hot deal though; heat and rep added.

If they were'nt filming a new one, i might of gone for it.

Nice price mind.

Anyone know how old the indy that he plays is - he is getting a bit old to pull these roles off now isnt he.

Dave.

I'm sure that there must be torrents out there of the uncut version of the temple of doom !!!:oops:

Mid fifties i think.

Don't think Connery is gonna make this one though.:?
#13
nope, connery turned it down cos he didn't want to come out of retirement.

As for the cuts, they don't bother me in the slightest cos I never saw an 'uncut' version. Either at the cinema, on TV or on DVD, the versions I bought in Sainsburys for £12.99 are the same versions I saw before, so lost nothing!

Total waste of money buying this boxset...

Well, thats if your a completeist...and if you're buying a boxset then you prolly are a little like that...

The new indiana jones films coming out in how long? :whistling:

...Guaranteed it will be a kinda flop but kinda a hit (like rocky balboa)....and like that the dvd\hd version will be released within a couple months of the cinema release...

You can bet your ass there will be a real "boxset" released then without shadow of doubt.

You've never seen the films? Yet your commenting? :whistling:

Thats the trouble with modern society, everythings got an opinion on everything, they might not know anything about it but they've still got something to say???!!!

For the record, its not a good deal purely because these are ancient catalogue films that should be going seperately for £2.99 tops...

If it weren't for George Lucas, the old gimp, we'd be getting them for that price along with some decent star wars etc.

Hang on, what if they make another film after that? Better hold off just in case they do so you can get the ultimate box set ....

A quick google search suggests that there aren't any legal downloads of Indiana Jones out there, so if people want the uncut version the USA set is only ~£5 more delivered.

As for this boxset, with a new film on the way and therefore the prospect of a new boxset, I can only see it continuing to fall in price. If you fancy watching them now, then its the best deal for the time being.

I'm not sure they were talking about legal downloads;-)

I was feigning innocence and giving them the benefit of the doubt, otherwise I would have to report them to a moderator....
