Good deal, voted hot, but dont forget the Staples deal if you live near one - £8.99 for 100 16x DVD-Rs (Verbatim) ;)

Was in Bromley tonight and popped in to Jessops with big signs saying closing down sale, up to 50% off. They have Best tubs of 25 DVDs for £2.49. They had tonnes of these in.

(Camera bags half price etc etc in their sale)

shouldn't that be £12.99 for 100 (well that's what I paid earlier today :w00t: )
and the Staples Verbatims are 16x compared to the SVP 8x.

Bought a spindle of these from SVP last week. Can confirm they are superb discs. Not a single coaster and play in everything.Ace for the money !.
#7
Yep, i can second that, I've purchased them before. They got 8.8/10 average review. Pretty positive.

£12.99 is what I thought Id pay, but the DVD-Rs were going through at £8.99 for 2x50 tubs! Made in Japan, top quality TYG03 dye too!

I think the DVD+Rs were still £12.99.

This doesn't seem that cheap to me.

Not when you can get a decent 50-pack of DVD-Rs from Ebuyer for £6.24 (before delivery).
#10
thats because its not cheap the days of paying that price for discs are long gone the only time these wouldnt be bad is if you was buying another drive from there and you needed discs it would make it worth while for the cheap p+p.

Why would you exclude delivery cost? Cheapest is £3.79, making them a total of £10.70 delivered...£1.65 (or £2.36 incl discount & quidco) more than the ones in this thread.

In my humble opinion, cheap doesn't always mean good when it comes to recordable DVDs. I've bought Verbatim before, I binned most of them after getting a 100% failure rate out of two different packs. I don't know about those aone discs, but I wouldn't really trust them without knowing what dye they use.

The infiniti's that this post is referring to is MCC 02RG20 dye, which has left me with a 100% success rate. As long as Infiniti keep making them, I'll keep buying them. You might get cheaper, but I'd say this deal is the best value.

So thumbs up to the deal, and I'll vote hot as soon as I get off my soapbox. :)

Great deal, been looking for some decent dvd-r discs for a few days now but delivery costs always seemed to bump the price up a lot, already registered for my 5% discount with SVP so for me this was a no-brainer!

aghh - I knew I shouldn't have bought a cheap recorder that can only burn to DVD+R :x
#15
The infinitis are not cheap and only worth getting for the cheap postage of 99p if you want anything else because the whole order no matter what you buy is 99p shipping,Its not next day and can take up to a week to arrive.
#16
If you go to your local blank media shop you can get them for abouy £8.
#17
Standard Price. No Real Bargain tbh. :x

Rated Warm! Keep tryin!

When buying big packs of media online the savings are usually offset with the high shipping costs but this is pretty good. I save all my media ordering for when I'm ordering something else from Ebuyer, though. I occasionally build/fix PCs for friends/families/workmates so I place an order their once every month.

If I need to buy media on its own I usually go to Play knowing that their prices include shipping or to Amazon and spend over £15.

The best Play have to offer is 50x 16x DVD-R (good brands) for £12.99 or 100 for £17.99.

I find local stores overcharge for cheap brands (Maplin can be the biggest offender).

I just went to staples and they only had 1 pack of the -rleft priced at £8.99 bogof, they had loads of +r and they was priced at £12.99 bogof

SVPs infinitis are not that good, had a set from them and they do not playback very well. Also had about 5 discs fail out of 50.

There's a reason why they are always in the 99p section, they are overpriced.

Got myself 200 blank Ty Yuden verbatims from Staples for £18, much more worth it.

yu must have been extremely unlucky then because ive had 100's of the infintis from svp and never had one problem. and the kids throw there discs round like frisbies and they still always play fine also.

Infinity are in my list of media manufacturers I'll buy from. Had a 50 DVD-R cake and went through them all without a single failed disc. I only use them for data, mind. I have an LG DVDRW for the record.
#23
Thanks for all the responses to my deal, it seems a few people like it :) quite a positive result i think
#24
Good if buying something else - cheap p+p:-D
#25
The only advantage of these discs is that it gives 99p delivery for your whole order.
#26
Which I've just got while ordering some heavy rigid dvd storage cases plus other stuff:-D

I've used SVP before and never had a problem. I've used around 400 Datawrite Mach4 8 speed, and never had a coaster. I always record my movies at 4 speed, as from past experience this reduces the chance of any errors. I've also purchased Fortis dual layer discs for use on my Xbox 360, again not one coaster (used 40 so far, and much cheaper than Verbatims). I would suggest you find a reputable manufacturer who uses a reliable dye, and you should be fine - in my humble opinion, using a well known brand is not your only option.
Oh, as well as using the Mach4's for my movie backups, I also use these for my PS2 backups - over 100 with no coasters, played regularly and over a year old.
#28
Ditto, so it is possible to add products that are not in the "Discount Deliveries!" section? Nice. Seems this is getting better
#29
These are the best discs you can buy IMO
#30
I always add these to any order from svp, but I only do so for the 99p delivery.
