Was looking at this myself, few searches for the model number bring up the 192 stream, but one brought up the 216 stream. Contacted Inno3d and Ebuyer by email but neither have got back to me
#2
Yeah that model number really isn't clear about whether its 192 or 216. Even so, a steal with either SP's:thumbsup:
#3
Just about to post this deal myself! anyway its definately the 192 original 260GTX, but a brilliant buy, Amazon have this @ £215, just read in the IT press today that NVidia are bleeding $$ on every 260 sold, heat added.

How is this compared to a 4870?
#5
Might help if you put what it actually is in the title.

HD4870 is faster. However this is still a hot deal..

Appears relevant: http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/398/1051398/nvidia-gtx260s-losing-money

The only thing holding me off buying a 4870 would be ATi's relatively poor driver support. Nvidia beta drivers are available on a near weekly basis providing sizeable speed increases with new titles. Physx support is also becoming a factor, considering how much strain it alleviates from the CPU.

Heat and Rep.

Ordered one to replace my aging (!) BFG 9600GT OC2

Should be a substantial increase in performance no?

Or should i get an 4850 for same / less price?

According to this, the GTX 260 is pretty much equal to the 4870, and better than the 4850.

4850 has benchmarked better than this card as it's VERY overclockable (I have one), let alone the 4870.

Thanks, good stuff! And at a great price too!

Some muppet on eBay will buy my BFG 9600gt OC2 for about £70 making the net cost to me just £64

Happy days!!!

This is a very very good deal.
#15
Inno3d make very good cards. After sales support isn't so hot though
#16

i like the way you put 'good luck bidding' yet it is buy it now :)
#17
The GTX260 is faster than the 4850 and equal to the 4870 in most games. I switched from GTX260 to HD4870 and did not notice any real difference. GRID seemed slightly better on 4870 but Crysis wins on the 260. You cannot lose with either card.

Why on earth did you pay £180 for a 192 core from ebay last Monday? Every other internet shop were selling a 216 cores for around £200 or less last week. Even PC World had 192 cores for £190 for a while and whatever one says against DSG customer service, it is a damn good safer than second hand from some dodgy ebayer... I really really don't get the price some peoples will pay for things on ebay...

Sorry to have to tell you but you've been had! Two weeks ago, you could have got a GTX60-216 for £190 delivered and a gtx60-192 for £180 delivered too. If you are penny counting, add a 2-7% quidco on top of that. So to go and pay £180 on ebay is beyond me. I don't get peoples that pay full price on ebay. If I go to ebay, I want a real bargain to compensate for the unsafe nature of the place. buying something for a fiver less over £200 does not qualify as a bargain that is worth that risk at all in my book.

216 core?

Yeah typo heh. Anyways, this version will be faster than the HD4870 and at this price its a steal. Just the issue of whenever they get the cards in stock.
#31
Are eBuyer usually good at shipping out-of-stock items? Do they honour orders ~ or cancel and up the price?

Ta?

I have looked up the model number too on google, and it brings up 216 core!!!!!!

:w00t: OMG if these are the 216 core, i'll be happier than a cat that got the cream.

But looking at the awaiting stock im counting down the days, 6-8 atm
