After the MSI 1070 for 295 this morning, this isn't so great.

Feeling these are going to drop to around 300 for most versions early 2017, with new AMD and 1080ti prices for the lower top end have to come down surely?

Yes that deal is gone, but feel its an indicator of what's to shortly come.

Could well be wrong, and if you need a graphics card now this is a decent price, but I'm happy to wait and see what happens.

Its not an indicator to anything, just Ebuyer trying to reach sales targets. Notice how its a higher price everywhere else.

Maybe, we'll see in January.

I had the ebuyer deal in my cart but didn't check out, maybe that was stupid.

I agree with Dacra, a 'smaller' retailer like eBuyer with a lot of stock, purchased at prices closer to the selling price (smaller margins), might seek to shift stock before a new card/competing product(s) comes to market in a couple of weeks time.

Add in that various retailers often get advanced notice of pricing changes to unit purchases, i.e 1000 x GTX 1080 @ £XXXX.XX suddenly becomes cheaper.... and you can quickly gather what is happening.

I'm not saying any of this is proven, but it could simply be that eBuyer has its finger on the pulse more so than the larger retailers (eBuyer stand to lose more with bulk cost being higher than say, Amazon) and they could well have had the next order price notification, and it's lower.... resulting in a lot of previously purchased stock from Nvidia etc being squeezed by price reductions elsewhere. Amazon can afford to swallow a small loss on older stock that now has less margin, so they'll sell at higher price points until the mass market drops. Ebuyer can't afford to do this.

Holding off and watching with interest.

I'm in the same boat, waiting for the TI and AMD announcements before buying a 1080?

lol because it's AMD? I'm hoping it brings Nvidia down to more sensible pricing levels.

seems any sensible person would be waiting to see whats coming up from either AMD or nvidia, only a clear fan boy would come up with a reply like that. vega and the Ti will have a affect of prices without a doubt and with amd agressive pricing of late we could see prices tumbling, thats for the good of all gamers

Haven't people learnt from the constant let downs that AMD have released. I'm not a fan boy, I've had countless AMD cards since the ATI Radeon days. But always being disappointed with their cards of late I had no choice to stick with nVidia since the 6 series.

youre def right, but think they might have finally got their act together especially having seen those leaked benchmarks, if they are right its going to shake up the gpu market, personally all i care about is driving down the prices so joe public can get access to cheaper 4 gaming

I'm stuck with nVidia because I've got a gsync monitor. Having said that I don't mind paying a premium for drivers that work.

Not necessarily, as the 980 Ti, 390, 390X, Fury and Fury X didn't lower the 970's price at all. It's hardly "without a doubt".

And the number of times I've seen claims like "if those leaked benchmarks are right", and "this [unreleased, not-yet-benchmarked] GPU will shake up the market"... it was so rarely true decades ago when a new generation of graphics cards could bring about a paradigm shift in performance/features. Today, when the leaps are strictly evolutionary rather than revolutionary, it's nothing more than sloblocks.

Although the way Ferrari used to say it did make me laugh. :D You'll want to sell your 970s before the 390 launches and they all halve in value!!!
