Good deal if you need that sort of thing :)

Just ordered some online this morning from Simply Hike as I am a gourmet meal to all insects, got bitten more than a dozen times this weekend already.

Good price though and DEET is very effective at keeping the horrid little things away, I would have got some had I not already ordered elsewhere.

Nice find. Great price & Deet really works !

Deet kept soooo many bugs away from me when I was in Kenya for 2 months! I think I used stronger stuff than this but 50% is a lot better than some rubbish you buy. Worth getting! Heat added.

anybody know if this offer is just online or available instore too? Thanks

or cheaper cus most times they have a bogof on it

Lidl still has stock of an offer about two weeks ago where there are an assortment of repellents or sting treatments for (I think) £2 - £2.50 a time.

I'm told deet is not particularly effective against midges etc. in the UK while being the mutts nutts of a defense against mosquitoes.

Jungle formula lotion is highly regarded :)

For UK, 50% is not necessary. It is no more effective than a 25% formulation. It may give you longer protection time, but only if you manage not to sweat at all. It is also better to apply repellent in liquid / gel form, rather than spraying it from a can, especially around the face.

Forget DEET - DDT is much better!!!

I live in midgie-central and everyone out here uses skin so soft - so much so that a lot of the climbing shops have started selling it (at a hefty markup).

As someone above mentioned, it's a lot safer than deet and you'll also have fabulous skin! (just don't get it in your eyes - it nips)

Cans are 125ml for anyone interested and available instore. Jungle was 3 for 2 in Superdrug when I checked so didn't compete with this deal on price.

I stand to be corrected!

Avon skin so soft doesn't work.......well not for everyone, it's certainly not the magic potion it's portrayed as.

I heard they were meant to be working on it and re-marketing it as an actual repellent.

Not sure if that is the case or not but I have seen people bitten whilst being coated in skin so soft both in the UK and other worldwide locations.

But have they actually tested it in the jungle/swamps etc or just in the back garden

If you search Avon UK for repellent it brings up skin so soft, yet no mention of repellent in description, avon.com different ball game.

Skin So Soft is great against midges, but not at all good with mosquitos (I am an Avon rep, and I have tried). Deet isn't great for your skin, but for 2 weeks a year I'll risk it, rather than face itching infected mosquito bites !
