Never buying anything from Dell again after being screwed around over their so-called "deal" today. Their website and customer service are a joke.

This was £449 this morning.

I have this. Originally it was called the 7000 model but now they call it the 5000 model. The case is very plasticky and has worn away to a dirty rough material on either side of the trackpad.

The battery life has deteriorated rapidly. I have recalibrated the battery several times but it just naff now.

It was also very juttery scrolling web pages until I dialled down the CPU to maximum 80% performance.

It also gets hot - frightenly hot sometimes that I have to switch it off. When it gets hot the fan blows like crazy but seems incapable of cooling it so hence the need to power it down.

The 'new' 7000 model now has an aluminium case but this 5000 model was the 7000 model a year or so ago. I guess they had to change the model rating because I suspect I am not the only person who is cheesed off by the quality of the plastic case. I actually thought that I was getting a metal case.

I almost bought it again this morning as I need to replace my current one but when I sat down and thought about the above problems I decided to give it a miss.

If the above are not an issue for you then...

Personally I think Dell deals should be banned from this site for a period of 5 years to teach them not to shaft customers

you can but without 1 year warranty and without a new 9 cell battery and probably not the best condition either.

You post a laptop with lower memory, lower SSD and Refurb, and you have the chutzpah calling the deal I posted 'cold'...

Sorry OP, but cold because Dell. After their Black Friday behaviour, screw 'em.

I didn't miss it, rather I wasted a couple of hours of my life trying to check out through their pathetically inadequate servers, so as far as I'm concerned it was a non-deal and more like an exercise in data harvesting.

guys this laptop or the HP pavilion 15-au103na Laptop - HP Store UK http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=Z5D46EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB. Which is 466 and this one 572 if quidico/TCB tracks....

why is it my fault? this is website for deals not for grievances. can you find this laptop cheaper?

i posted a deal where it is cheaper than John Lewis. not my fault if Dell let down others on another deal.

Rather than respond to that in full, I'll let the heat/lack of speak for itself. Have a good weekend.
