How hard to upgrade the SS HD ?

Never mind, all gone. . .
#2
They are not all gone, they still have 9 in stock, only they now work out at £143...

They also have 1 (Only one) for £150 with a 8gb SSD and windows XP SP3
#3
only 2 left now...
#4
There are currently 149 of them ranging in price from about £193 to nearly £300. The £55 off will help :)
#5
makes you wonder why there are so many to be disposed of...
#6
I don't know why you guys are so fast to expire deals like these. There are still 3 at the price of the post in the outlet shop. Whoever bagged them earlier decided not to buy, or has let them expire out of their cart. A little more patience will help more members get a deal here.
Mods: Any thoughts?
#7
coming out at £143.11 for me
#8
They are still there ...
One of them even has a pretty pink cover. Nice.
Dell RRP today £217. Shame, no one will get to see this deal as it has been expired.
Sighs.

Make sure you sort by price, there are 3 at £167.21
After the discount they come in at the posted price.

Lol, ok if you want a pink cover I suppose. But for £40 more you could have double the SSD (8GB), double the RAM (1GB), XP licence, Bluetooth, webcam and 3G modem.

One for the ladies, maybe!
Yup, you can get better deals on spec for a few quid more.
But I am a confirmed tightwad when it comes to kit, so cheapest usually does it for me.:whistling:
Edit: Second thoughts :-) Have you got a link for that spec please?
#11
One left now. Folks are catching on.
#12
.... Now they are all gone again
#13
I dunno which site you guys that can only see 3 or none are looking at. When I go to the outlet and sort by price the first 16 pages are all Inspiron 9's at prices up to about £275 (£220 after the £55 off at the checkout)) .The first 5 of the 166 listed are priced at £174 so would be about the price listed in this deal.

Edit: for those of you who haven't used the Dell outlet before, even if there are none listed, it doesn't mean that there are none left. If you add one to your basket, it removes it from everyone else's view of the list but if you haven't bought it after 15 minutes, it goes back on the list agian.

Absolutely, you have to keep your eye on the prices on the delloutlet as they seem to fluctuate all the time.

the ones in this brief deal were at £129 deliverd, which is not bad but i grabbed a 16gb/512mb ubuntu verson for £153 delivered and an 8gb/1gb with XP and 3G for £170 delivered this week (£25 cheaper than they were last week) as i tihnk that 4gb just isnt quite enough especially if you#re planning on sticking Windows on there.

Note that there is another pink 4gb/512mb mini9 on the outlet as i type for £129 which im sure will go any second

You can easily run Windows on a 4GB SSD, as there are guides out there to show you how to nLite the installations files but also what can be removed if an installation is already in place - on top of that you can use an SDHC card to increase the amount of disk space that you have available.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

There's also handy guides over at the ASUS EEE PC User Community website & forum - appreciate it's different hardware but a few of the guides are handy as they are operating system specific rather than being hardware specific.

£114 great glad i was being indecisive earlier

No im reasonably sure you cant replace it with a 2.5HDD you need 1.8" PATA (not SATA) PCIe drives
#23
Being indecisive can reap its own rewards ! Speciality with Dell. 5 more just popped up on there as well. . .
#24
ARGH they got that issue with the checkout again,(happened to me last week but ended up saving me £25) where you cant get past adding your details in....maybe i should recommend them a new hosting service provider

just called them and this happy irish chap said its been like that most of the day, they cant even process orders over the phone.
#25
Thanks to Scotty Boy to directing me to this thread.

I really want a XP with WWAN one so will be keeping a lookout
#26
You can install XP on the Ubuntu ones you know. There are stacks of guides on the web showing you how.
#27
Are there any Ubuntu ones with WWAN though?

If thats true then where are all the systems on the site going ? When I first looked there were 280 listed, there's only 180 now?
If no one can get them through the checkout where's that 100 gone ???

wow, 2 days ago i got WWAN one but it was £170, also got a 16gb ubuntu one for £150
trying to buy a 4gb in pink for the g/f but cant checkout
#32
No one can checkout, the systems gone down at the Dell end. There must be loads of peep refreshing there baskets in the hope they fix it soon !!
#33
ARGH, id been holding a 4gb one in my basket for the last 2 hours hoping this would get fixed soon but its now clipped out of my basked "due to inactivity" but i think Dell have probably reset the sessions
#34
yeah just as i thought, my £112 pink mini9 (ID - E6VGDFM8) has gone up from £154 to £172 very sneaky Dell

still cant checkout tho
#35
Did you get it in the end ?
#36
steve1221
Did you get it in the end ?

unfortunately no, they kept increasing the price and then took away the £55/£61discount and then fixed the checkout, very sneaky

will wait till next time as they have the £100 or £55 discounts regularly and the mini9 is on its way out soon so i'm sure they'll reduce the prices again

still got a 16gb and 8gb+WWAN to play with :)
#37
majhaar thanks for your posts they have been very helpful.

Do you have any idea where I can find a WWAN internal card for a reasonable price?

no sorry but have a read on the mydellmini forums
note that you can not fit a WWAN card to a non WWAN mini9 as there is no mini pcie connector so you would need some serious soldering skills to add the connector in first

thats why i bought 2 so i can take the good bits off 1 and fit them to the other with the WWAN
