Not a bad deal - it's the core duo model, they're getting rid of remaining stocks as they've been superceeded by the faster core 2 duo models.

Bump up as we are after 10am. Thanks for the heads up A-N-D-Y
#3
Clearing out old stock before the nov 30 vista models are released.
#4
Yeah :) Nice one A-N-D-Y better be quick as it's the first 30 customers!

I bought this last month and its the worst laptop ive ever had, and ive had a few, it overheats, its not very reliable at picking up my wifi network, dell have changed it twice and all 3 have been the same so id be rather wary about buying one

I'ts better than the deal I got in April, but not as good as the deal my son got when they recently took money off for upgrading one of their laptops from 80gig HD to 160gig - he was pleased they honoured what amounts to a mis-price.
If I wanted one now , and was one of the first 30, I would be pleased, so as credit to OP, I rate this hot!

I got the voucher and lappy in my basket got through to payment and then had a bit of a look round the web / ebay etc and this started to look like only an ok deal, so I cancelled!
I dont really need it and by the time I do buy one, this one would have been out of date!
Agree with the above, if I wanted a laptop now, would have been a good deal!

Deal or no deal I get the following message:

We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered has previously been redeemed.

I'm after a sub £500 laptop, getting quite tempted with all these deals ATM. Think I'd be better off waiting to after christmas?
#10
If you are getting that message Gino, looks like the deal has ended as 30 people have used the voucher.

Welcome to HotUKDeals wardmj1 :)

I guess it wouldn't take long for those 30 to go and tomorrow is Dell's update day. So watch out for MikeT's posts Thursday AM ;-)
[mod]#12
It really wasnt a bad deal at all, if that had been a misprice then I suggest lots would have gone for it ;-)
You could have upgraded the battery for £11 to a 9 cell and added a printer for just £9.99
The offer is still letting you apply the coupon so you think your one of the 30 but once you get right through checkout the page errors when you submit your card details, bit of a messup by dell there.

This has, just happened to me.
Ah well there is always tomorrow's deal.
#14
Sounds like I may not have got it anyway as I never went past the card payment.
#15
this is a good laptop for the price, no argument.
I managed to bag one.

Vista and core duo 2 laptops will be well more than this.

I don't see how because they're giving everyone a free upgrade to Vista with these laptops. Although, please tell me that they did with this one because they are with all of the other laptops that they are selling on the site. As I've explained on MSE this wasn't really that good a deal. There is a laptop for £529 on the site that has a better processor, double the RAM, bigger hard drive, dvd recorder, and windows XP media (with free upgrade to Vista media). That's more than worth the extra £130. It's just another thing that Dell do every so often. They take off the reduction on the laptop that morning and then tell everyone that it's going to be reduced to clear.
