Beach towels seasonal aisle at my local Asda priced white stickers £5. I lifted two different ones and they scanned through at £2.50 each. These are the £5 styles online.

Voted hot, but when I click on a link, or an image used as a link, I expect to be taken to a page that contains more information about the item in the. link, and not to a generic page from a supplier of the item in the link, (as above), with no easy way to find the item concerned. This seems to be happening far to often on HUK Deals, it can be very frustrating for users, and wondered if the system could be changed to stop this happening.

Don't get me wrong, I am not getting at the OP of this item in particular, it happens with many items on here, so it appears to be a sign that the design of this site is encouraging people to post links that do not lead to the specific item they are posting about. Am I alone with this, or do others find it frustrating?

With all due respect, OP has posted this as being instore, thus not having an online link, however when anyone posts an instore deal it still requires the merchant to be selected, which will in turn take you to the companies main page, but I'll rectify the title and link to the actual products which in turn will only lead to others saying "but it's £5 online" so you can't please everyone.

As it goes the user who has posted this deal has made it quite clear in their description saying the ones that are £5 online are the ones that are scanning at £2.50 instore, which is more than most do on here.

Which is exactly the point I am making, people click on links to see more information about the item, not the suppliers main page. If no further information is available for the product, there should be an option to say this, not redirect interested parties to somewhere else.

I see the links have been altered now to take interested parties to an Asda beach towel page, thanks OP.

The link does take you to the page where the £5 towels are situated, so problem solved, all information is now available via the deal link, which was already in place before I looked into it.

I can agree with many issues on this site, but if a deal is instore, and the person who has posted the deal states this, then there really shouldn't be a link to any online products IMO.

As I said, can't please everyone.

Which as I said earlier, many don't, so I wouldn't worry about it, you've done all you can to share a deal with the community, and from what I can see the link already took you to the relevant page to find the information required for the products in question, and made it clear that the deal was instore, so you've done your part.

The original post did not contain links to the item though, they were altered after my comment was posted.

I wasn't aware of this, when I checked a direct link to beach towels was there, so must've been corrected by the user who has posted the deal as they have stated they had linked to such page, and when I checked this link was there, so I can only go on what I see.

I wasn't disputing that, as I said can only go with what I see, and when the comment was made about the link not going to any products, I checked this and the link was as you stated it to be :)

As people have mentioned if it's an instore deal it may not necessarily have a presence on their website. In these cases sometimes people add a link to their homepage or subsection of the product type on their homepage.

HUKD makes money through click through sales and I would imagine any sale completed online from a click through whether it's directed to the homepage or not. So naturally they aren't going to discourage adding of generic page, it's encouraged and HUKD probably have armies of mods one of their tasks to add link to homepages where no specific link exists.

Wow, you've copied and pasted the same grumpy comment on two different Asda deals.

Have you heard of Google? If you're that desperate for more info it would be quicker to do a google search than write such a lengthy moan on this thread.

Just saying...

Good deal OP, heat added :-)

a lot of deals I try to get into including this one take me to a google page and I get this any suggestions how to get to deals

Your search - http://www.hotukdeals.com/visit?m=36078&q=1941400 - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:
•Make sure that all words are spelled correctly.
•Try different keywords.
•Try more general keywords.
•Try fewer keywords.

Whether in store or on line one would normally click the link to see a description of an item. The fact that it is a different price is immaterial as this is clearly stated by the poster. If you are looking for something with pink fairies and they only stock them with brown ale bottles you would have a wasted journey. :-)
