I am a sucker for trying new skincare products and used to haunt the US forum Essentialdayspa. Typically I will buy this, but NOTHING has worked wonders on my skin.
I have done TCA peels, I have an "anti-aging" LED light (Lightstim), had fractional laser treatment, used SPF moisturisers since my late teens.....I think I may as well just give up and smear lard over my fizzog :p!
(Thinks), oh yeah and I had a Dermawand (great on zits, gave it to my teenage niece), Vaculifters (basically suction massage face tools)....all snake oil in my opinion. There's even discussion about face exercises but the jury's out on that one, too.
have you tried not using anything but good ol' soap and water?
I do, actually. Most days I use Dove soap and microfibre cloth, a few days a week Oil Cleansing method. Olay SPF moisturiser on my skin every day. I wear very minimal makeup, just a little concealer and loose powder.
I also have Dermarollers (different lengths). I went through a manic few years trying everything but came to the conclusion that it's partly genetics that determine how good your skin behaves/turns out. Dermatologists and beauty therapists tell me the texture of my skin isn't good but I'm stuck with it.
As if to highlight the point, I have a huge crop of zits on one cheek today :p I don't really get zits like I did in my teens/20s. I'm guessing it's the free sample of Skin Pep Collagen Renew I've been using the last two days under my moisturiser that my skin doesn't like!
My sis and brother also got me the Gift Pack of No7 Protect & Perfect that was a Star Buy at Boots before Xmas. My skin doesn't seem to like that either :)
May sound unpleasant, but have you tried not washing your face for a awhile, maybe a week
One remedy for skin problems, I kid you not, is peeing (first pee of the day) onto a cotton pad and cleansing your face with it. Don't think I'd do that one.
It could be worth a try but I do wear makeup (minimal, but still) during the day. Don't want to frighten the children of Glasgow :p!
You could try that, urea has been shown to help relieve some skin conditions. The first pee of the day will make no difference. Honestly, how do these things start and I know people will have actually done it! X)
Or even better, you could simply buy or get a prescription for a urea based cream instead. ;)
Yeah, there was a thread about it on a skincare forum, some of it here http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=52498

As an aside, as I was all over the city centre yesterday, I had a good hunt...and didn't find any InStyle magazines. Bah.

Sorry to disagree but I bought the magazine to get these for free and I don't think they are very good at all. I regularly use the shu uemura ones and these are no way near as good. In fact I think you could get a better pair by spending £3.90 at Boots, Superdrug etc.

I could get this right to the root, get a great curl, no pulling or catching of skin and really nice spring action on it, well made, comfortable in the hand, and after curling them at 10am this morning, they are still curled perfectly (9pm)! And no, I don't use a curling or added fibre mascara & I do catch my skin sometimes if I go too close with the S.Uemura ones.
I wasn't too sure how they would be as tried soooooo many but I'm delighted with them & definitely better than a £3-4 pair in my experience. Each to their own!

I usually pay around £20 for my Shu Uemura ones from Space NK.

I agree - these eyeko ones do work great... much better than the cheap ones that do not curl effectively.

This is a great curler, works better than my Shu Uemura one, have bought a few as stocking fillers and put them away & extra store cupboard stock for me as you do need to change the pads in curlers eventually.

I think quite a lot of people have been buying a few that's why its been difficult getting one. Looked in about 3 stores and they were all gone ... so instead of making another wasted trip, decided to call and find out if the local WHSmith had one - they had one copy left so I told them to hold it in store for me to pick up.

I don't find nails inc all that great - wouldn't pay more than a fiver. However, Ciate nail polishes are amazing and don't chip for days (even if you spend half your working week at a keyboard like me!) - RRP around £9 each (cheaper than nail inc) but worth every penny!

Nothing wrong with nails inc , I can wear it for over a week and no chips, just have to apply another layer of topcoat to refresh at end of week. Cheers nails inc will be getting all 3 from work xx
