I have just taken out a policy with

About £14 for a week. Seems OK value to me.
i agree not all car hire companies charge extra for the excess, but you will generally find that these companies have slightly inflated prices.

i personally think it is worth the cost of the annual insurance - you never know when you might be whisked away for a relaxing holiday... i wish!

anyway, check out this link it's a What the papers say...
Just double check you actually need this insurance as car hire is a minefield at the best of times. I just booked 8 days car hire in the states with hertz which came with all the insurance you would need and a nil excess.

I've heard of these guys before and they are well known for being good value for a lot of people, but just double check as not all hire comapny's do charge an excess, and if they don't, this is pretty much worthless.
Am sorely tempted by this, thanks dramaqueen. Used Tesco clubcard vouchers for car hire in Italy a few months back but still had to cough up an extra 150 Euro to bring the insurance excess down from 800 Euro!!! Off up to Scotland at the weekend with 7 days car hire booked (Avis, courtesy of TCC vouchers again). Only cautious as I've never heard of this company - anyone else used them or claimed from them before?
