Currently its the best deal from any major retailer because its the only one. Id say that makes it a good deal.

Also 2% off and free Lost Planet 2 isn't the worst thing in the world is it?

scan are doing it without the game for £258.31(+£7.99 postage if you don't get free delivery).

I'm looking at the 2500k myself which scan has for £176.70, I'm going to have to wait till I get a job before buying as have car insurance and service + mot coming up. looking at ~£400 for the cpu, motherboard, memory and cpu cooler, ~£500 if you go with 2600k.

Ahh that is a better deal actually.

It's only the best deal because they're selling it early before the global release date, hopefully Intel find out and they face repercussions. For this reason cold.

Your voting cold because its being sold early, get a life lol you should be voting on weather its a good deal or not. It is a good deal for the performance you get!

Expensive - Intel and the suppliers need to return to the real world.

voted cold because it is OcUK

OcUK were selling these a few days ago at even higher prices. i.e. they broke Intel's official release date just to make more money for THEMSELVES. That says a lot about them; they’ll ignore the rules provided THEY profit. An unscrupulous seller with a terrible reputation for customer support.

Intel’s wholesale prices for Sandy Bridge are very good it's just that the wholesalers and retailers are increasing their margins for new tech which is very common.

exactly, this is 50% expensive with 25% performance upgrade.

The product is not available anywhere else...so heat added

You moan about ocuk, i'd never touch aria with a barge pole, been burnt more than once there, plus they don't have stock either.
ocuk have always been very good for me, i've ordered several times recently no issue and the company i work for spends a fortune with them.

That’s because the official release date is Sunday the 9th so there will be loads of stores selling them tomorrow and at better prices than this.

Exactly, they're trying to lure in buyers by selling them early but at an inflated price. Intel's price for these is supposed to be £245.

Anyone suggest a good motherboard for the new CPU's

I've got my eye on the asus p8p67 series, the pro looks like the one I'll be going for(there's also a deluxe, evo, standard and le versions).
