Cheapest place in uk i've seen this price is when using 5day super saver delivery.

This cpu overclocks to about 3.5ghz which is most boards fsb limit (around 455-475 for 45nm quads), has a 7.5x multi and uses 0.5x increments.

Has fantastic reviews.

This is OEM, so doesnt come with heatsink/fan and comes with 1yr warranty instead of 3yr which retail comes with.

Cheapest place i've seen Q9450 is £200+ p&p and 2 places selling it for £207 + p&p, none of those 3 places have stock tho:(

ooh,ah its good but the multiper is too low to overclock the q6600 will overclock higher.

yeah but why you would want to overclock one of these is beyond me.

sharp the q6600 is slower clock for clock tho, even with more cache due to the q9300 having better architecture. also has sse4.1 and stuff so much better for encoding. It also uses less power, produces less heat and requires much less voltage.

mcloum you'd want to overclock it so that it runs faster, doesnt 3.5ghz sound better than 2.5ghz??

True, but I prefer this as it can go higher than a Q6600 whilst keeping the system noise low due to lower power consumption. I would have bought one but got one on ehayhay under 150.
