Ive linked to the Today Only page so add it from there and it will show up at the discounted price. For free postage Ill add a link below.

Note: Some people will prefer the new 45nm Quad cores but not all systems support those due to them using a faster FSB; 1333 v 1066.

These will drop even more as soon as AMD bring out there 12 core processors later this year.

Think I will stick with my Dual Core for the moment.

Don’t expect to see those until next year and not at a price that is vaguely close to the Q6700. They will likely only be for servers and Intel’s 6 core CPU due this year is currently only for servers as well.

I do think you have a good price, my current set up was all bought from Scan 15 months ago.
Just updated the bios on my motherboard to take new Quad chips, but I still only want to pay around £130 for it, so back to the waiting game for me, lol.

Your right about the server thing, that is what I read as well, but hopefully this will start a price fall on all current chips even more.

Scan has the Q6600 retail version for £135.11 delivered on Today Only which I think is more of a bargain.

As you said, the q6600 is more of a bargain. They also have the E6850 for £126.

I currently have the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 (Conroe 65nm) with 4GB Corsair XMS2Pro Ram PC6400 on a MSI P965-Platinum MB, so will wait for a real high powered chip to drop to a reasonable price.

I like the look of the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300, Yorkfield Core, S775, 2.5 GHz, 1333MHz, 6MB L2 Cache, Retail @ £176.24 (take another £40 off or so i think ;-))
