Wonder why this is getting voted cold? Seems like a pretty good deal for a very overclockable cpu. mobo probably not the best for achieving 5ghz but offers usb 3.0 ans sata 6 g/s. Voted hot. Reasonable case and excellent hard disk drive.

Seperately, these components come to over £360 without the case, so effectively you're getting a free case here. It's a good deal considering it's the new architecture.

I worked out buying from the cheapest places and most reliable 340.00 with no case.
So not really a good deal, you can buy your own bits and your not stuck with what scan says you can have

Where was it you saw this?

The hdd was 37.00 on scan the other day but 40.00 now , the memory I allowed 40.00 and the motherboard 100.00 which is pretty much the price in most places and the processor is 170.00 on lambada tech.

I think for 100.00 you might be able to get a motherboard, but have not done research on this. Sorry 350.00 not 340.00

Hmm... The processor is cheaper is Lambda Tek, but is currently out of stock, so you can't really compare. P67 motherboards (needed for the K series processors) aren't any cheaper than £100, usually more like £105 really. Which would bring your pricing up to £355 at the very least, more likely £360, the same as Scan. Considering you can't get the processor for the cheaper price (as it's out of stock), this still looks like the cheapest deal, if only for the fact you're getting a free £30 case. Sure it's not the best, but it's more than up to the job.

of course its out of stock, it has not been released yet. also when it does get released I am sure it will drop 10 to 20 in the first week or so
#8
Of course it's been released, what do you mean? Sandy Bridge parts came out on the 9th.
#9
lots of places are saying shipping on the 15th for the 2500k
banned#10
that does not mean it's not been released, just means they don't have stock of the 2500k.
#11
Exactly, I doubt prices on these CPU's will plummet either. They seem to have increased in the couple of days they've been on sale.

SandyBridge = DRM protection = You no longer control your PC. :(
#13
That's a little melodramatic isn't it? There will be content partners offering drm'd streaming content for those using Sandy Bridge hardware, whether you choose to use it or not is optional. Or am I missing something?
#14
Avoid SandyBridge like the plague. Google around and you'll see what I mean.
