This is a very good CPU for the money. Perfect for building a budget PC. I think it's the lowest price it's been.

For budget gaming get a G3220 and a 750Ti

http://youtu.be/ofPKbl6yCKU#aid=P9fs_P53Iqw

You can get both for about £140

Obviously with a better GPU this CPU will thrash the G3220 but you're looking at £150 to £200 to get a card that won't bottleneck it.

Hot for the price though.

The Amazon price on the i5-4440 has been jumping around between £120 and £128.98, including postage, so might want to keep an eye on that one.
#8
For budget gaming might be best to go with the Intel i5-3330 as these can be overclocked to 3.5ghz.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I'm researching the best spec so I can build my mum a PC for my bros birthday in October. So thanks for your help. Love this site.

You'd need a compatible motherboard too. Good quality older socket boards can be a little time consuming to find.
You'd ideally want to stumble upon a bundle.

We all have to learn some time. Aria rape you on delivery. Their "daily specials" are a real con most of the time. Usually they headline a really good price, then they take all the savings back in delivery charges and restrict you to purchasing a single item. Also they aren't really offering the good price as they are restricted to "Web Only" so no saving by collecting. Caveat Emptor.

Best IT deals are to usually be had from Amazon/Dabs/Scan (provided you get yourself qualified for free delivery).

You forgot to mention their amazing returns service. Sooner or later everyone's going to get something DOA.

Ignored emails, hours on a premium rate number, callbacks that never happen, etc.

Not worth it to save a couple of quid.

I would suggest getting an amd fx 6300 and a gtx 660 for a budget gaming build. About the best bang for buck available.

Not to mention refusal to refund orders cancelled within 7 day cooling off period. I wound up getting a charge back from my CC Company but not everyone uses CC and would have to go to court. Aria are the worst Tech company I have ever dealt with.

Not really a budget gaming PC, more of a mid range PC. Now my PC was a budget, cost me £150 but I can run Battlefield 3 medium. not too bad I guess. this is a good price and usually the most used CPU.

The k edition is only needed for overclockers. There's a lot of gamers who build pcs with no plan to overclock getting a mid range card(750ti for example), wasted money for those guys.

If any of you guys can get to Bowlers in trafford park, manchester,of a saturday morning, they have a weekly computer fair, this chip can be got for much less than stated here, boxed and guaranteed.
Otherwise this is a fairly good price.

They're pretty much the worst company NOT in administration to try and get your money back from/ obtain working goods from. I had a MAJOR headache after receiving a wonky HD7870 Tahiti. I'd rather go with Pixmania!

Get a G3258 and Z97 Board, OC to 4.7GHZ with stock cooler and you get near enough about the same performance
