why cold? show me cheaper...

not sure about retailer but looks fair enough, heat added.

If I'm right, that's a saving of around 7% on a £259 single component for a pc.

... if they pay you.

I am not going to vote but I say hang off buying these. The motherboards used with these CPUs have faults. Leave off going Sandybridge till the new chipset is out.
Have a look on scan for more info http://www.scan.co.uk/shops/intel/news

Great price. Never used this retailer tho.
As for the SB issue. Each to their own. SB without doubt offers the best vfm, probably not the i7 but i5 doesn't and the issue is only with (5%) SATA 2 ports numbers 2-5. Ie ports 0 and 1 are unaffected.

this is a deal on cpu not motherboard! nothing wrong in buyer buying other bits and holding out for the new b3 mobo's to arrive, just like i am doing and buying other bits i need instead.

Makes me laugh this, the incorrect schip that was produced by Intel causes the SATA chipset to degrade quicker than anticipated.
Intel put a statement on there site, then removed it as it was quite funny to read.
Basically it said that the chipset was designed for 30 years but the error in the new chip reuced this to 15 years.
Anyone got a MB from 15 years ago and still using it. oO
Will ask this question again in 15 years (2026) and see if anyone is using these MB's ;)

These will probably go up in price once Intel release their Z68 chipset on new motherboards.
Meaning H67 and P67 Motherboards will be a thing of the past and very cheap unlike the new Z68 based motherboards.

I voted this hot as its a good price

anyone voting cold just because of the mobo issue is just being silly. I am using all 6 SATA ports on my P67 mobo, knowing that:

1 - the worst that can happen is a slight loss of speed
2 - in a couple of months I will have a 100% working replacement

however, I am not 'most' users - not many folk I know are using all of the ports

Cheaper on Scan.co.uk (~£239) and Novatech (~£236) - better know retailers with TCB :]
