..shame it only takes upto 2gb and comes with 1gb..with ram so cheap most have 2 -4g as minimum these days!!

Most mid range PC's come with 2-4GB ram but this is in that low budget, low power category.

Ok deal.. like many threads before, dont see the point!! rather have a Netbook connected to a screen, to give flexibility to use as netbook and as a stay at home PC.

My Ideal small PC
case is similar to http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150277 £24
Power supply http://www.ebuyer.com/product/125004 £15
MOBO Intel Dual/Quad core mini ITX
http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?products_id=93972 £72
4 GB RAM http://www.ebuyer.com/product/130429 £35
500 GB HDD http://www.ebuyer.com/product/130826 £49
E2200 Intel Processor http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139584 £54
Blue Ray drive http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158605 £53
TOTAL £300 ish!! (£302) Plus delivery.

Gives you a very capable FULL 1080 P media centre.. !! You also have the flexiility to go the whole hog and go for a PCIex x16 graphics card for extreme gaming. Make sure you sort out appropriate cooling as well.

Other options you can add
£10 Wireless keyboard and mouse
£15 USB wifi dongle
£NA IMON VFD inside to get full remote capabilities!!
you can also make it cheaper by going for the AMD based mini itx board instead of the intel based. should cut cost by roughly £20

Hoope this helps!!

This dual core 1.6Ghz CPU has the power roughly of a single core 2 Ghz, not sure with this amount of power it is worth £251 just for the base unit. The limited power seems to match up with a max. memory of 2GB (no point in having more than 2GB of memory for a CPU that has power about 2Ghz in total). So as a basic business or home PC + monitor at about £300 seems about average.

I'd have to agree with earlier comments, far better to get netbook for same price, if you need a proper desktop:

Seems to be far more sensible.

Decent deal, but I'd still rather get one of these, as the dual core 330 doesn't offer a massive amount of improvement over the single core. What I mean with that, is that you'd still be using it for just surfing and no gaming, and this eee box looks better, is smaller, comes with kb/mouse and is £60 cheaper:

Around 20% cheaper yes..

Over 50% slower... yes.

Not a bad machine if you prioritise energy useage above performance. If performance matters though, this system is a dog, and that single RAM slot is inexcusible cost-cutting.

Um, that's not actually true. Most online sources who have performed benchmarks on these two processors don't report result as marked as that in real-life tasks.
