I built a pc for 700 for a friend the other day. 750w thermaltake psu, i5-4690k, 16gb, 3tb, 256gb ssd, gtx 980 Strix, elite 130 case and corsair watercooling. He's loving it.

Don't know what that says about me then, because I quite liked your story. Admittedly it wasn't exactly a 'cool' one as Aken6k so wittily pointed out (unless he wasn't being sarcastic, and genuinely thought it was a cool story), but it mildly peaked my interest for a few seconds, so I'll chalk that down as a small win for some otherwise mundane Thursday night HUKD browsing.

I would go with the 16gb RAM upgrade for the sake of £20.
Just needs OS and an SSD for good times.

Those 6GB is from the gtx 1060 and it should be gddr5 not ddr5, mistake.

Very tempting...I do need a new gaming pc but I don't spend a lot of time on a pc nowadays, hmmm....:|

Really nice case, not much space inside once you put it all together. It's loud and the walls are thin, but the front fan is silent and gives much airflow inside the case.

You can overclock the 6500 non-K with a specific bios, but I think this mobo doesn't have this feature:

http://wccftech.com/asrock-introduces-their-sky-oc-platform-overclocking-for-non-k-skylake/

450 Watts will easy handle this build, even if you oc it. Anyway heat added.

It was a great GPU until about a month ago when all the new generation ones started rolling out from Nvidia and AMD... cheaper and faster....

No doubt the 980 is still a great card and definitely VR ready its just been superseded...

Very tempted by the deal though... great find and I've been searching for a couple of weeks now..

It's frustratingly hard not to upgrade the spec a bit... which soon makes me less likely to press buy... still a good deal though.

• Ram to 16gb, +19.99
• Main drive to a 1tb hybrid, +26.99
• Add windows 10 home +59.99 (or do I buy a suspect OEM version of a popular eBay seller?)..
• internal wifi card +£14.16
• Could buy a secondary SSD in the future.

Total: £745.31

The case inside is huge. It's a bulky case, it's not loud at all. Perhaps your PSU is, or your cpu cooler or any extra fans.

They are thin walls, they're drilled metal also. They'll obviously allow more noise to enter the room.

If you sell it for more than you paid, it's a profitable hobby at worst, a business at best. Definitely not a curse.

I'd think carefully before buying. This is fine for the money, but the motherboard appears to only have two RAM slots if I'm looking at the right motherboard as there's a few H110 from Gigabyte. Also you forgo the latest I/O if you invest in this system, so there's no USB 3.1 and M.2 Gen 3 for example. It's cheap but the upgrade options are really the CPU, at least RAM is cheap currently.

After careful consideration this is not the system for me, however it will suit plenty of people and will game happily in 1080/1440p depending on the game.

i bought 2 Win10 Pro keys ages ago for around £10 each, 1 key has been activated for a while and updated Win10 anniversary edition without a problem. my main pc with an official win7 ---> to Win10 upgrade refuses to update to the anniversary edition

Google "GTX 1060 Benchmarks". It will max out any games at 1080p/60fps. 1440p is a bit more stressing on the card though so I'd recommend 1080p gaming for it.
Quite a good price imo

Interesting that the images show it as having water cooling, but the specs list standard intel air cooler... I was almost very impressed.

Overall it's a good build though, maybe a slightly more powerful PSU wouldn't hurt, but otherwise you would actually have a very nice machine there!
