Super cheap Intel OEM processor for socket 775 motherboards - check compatibility before ordering - you may need a BIOS upgrade for older motherboards. It is an OEM processor so does not include a fan so you will need to buy one or pay a bit more for the retail processor. Ideal for building low power servers or PCs for less demanding users. Free delivery for AVForums members.

Scan also have the Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L (Intel G41) motherboard for £34 inc. vat which would make an ideal budget pairing with this cpu. It includes Intel X4500 integrated graphics which is fine for older games and flash games. VGA output only - no DVI.

these are about the same prices as 9 months ago when i built a hackintosh from those parts...
edit: sorry that was G31-ES2L, so G41 takes up to 8GB RAM (vs 4GB). not sure what other differences.

G41 has the newer X4500 chipset which can do hardware HD 1080p video decoding and is about twice as fast as the G31.

I think only the G45 has the HD version of the X4500 which seems to be confirmed by the link you gave. Not 100% on that so worth checking if important to anyone.

OK - it looks like the G41 doesn't have HD decoding but is still quicker than the G31 chipset.

It's a snail to the G31's drop of paint. If you want to use the graphics for anything where speed matters you're better off spending a little more and you'll get something far faster.
