Wanted a cheap dab radio to take to work with me and found this down to £29.99 from £39.99, but when i went to collect in store the price was actually £19.99. A great price for a little portable DAB radio to keep in the van etc, had a quick play and seems great for the money.

Excellent , I'm off to grab one

I bought this one at this price this week.
Its rubbish, i took it back. All the BBC stations break up, and it wont even receive Talk Sport.

But it's only £19.99. Good price, if you can accept that you are not gonna get state of the art tech for less than twenty notes.

Unfortunately, you only get what you pay for with DAB radios.
If they dont pick up Digital stations or break up, there is not a lot of point having one.
Maybe this one works better in a strong signal area, but in my area it was useless, although my more expensive DAB radio works perfectly.

I checked up what digital radio stations i can receive in my area and the radio picks up all these no bother! The one's which show as being a bit iffy round here like kiss for example are exactly that, a bit iffy signal wise so i can hardly have any reservations with the radio about it. It might be worth checking what stations you can pick up in your area before hand :santa:

Agreed if it was a 70 quid DAB radio i'd probably like to think it would do better with the weaker signals but for just having to listen to the radio at work its great.

Another plug for this nice little set as I've had one for five days.

I occasionally have to swivel the aeriel to get good reception but it picks up in all rooms of my house and to get FM and DAB and mains/battery for under £20 meets all my needs. Only gribble I have is that the battery compartment is too tight to take my chunky Maplin AA 2000mAh rechargeables.

I got one of these a couple of days back and i'm really pleased with it - i live in a very weak DAB signal area but it picks up what i want - i bought it mainly for bbc 7 and the world service - it gets those fine (mainly) and i'm really pleased with the clarity and the fact that's it portable - voted hot

for £20 they are ok for use at work.etc

Just remember DAB's days are limited, infact DAB is not going to last as long as FM but at least this radio is FM as well...

Maybe there'll be HD radios?!

PLEASE don't go on about the DAB isn't going to be here route - it is set to stay - various forums (can't be bothered to look up the links) show from the Gov' that it is staying but MAY be enhanced....

Oh in store was showing full price..

Got 1 yesterday, shows as £29.99 on web site, but only got charged £19.99 in store.

I dont like the rotary tuning thing on it, as once you have a station on display. If you dont press the centre button within 3 seconds, it goes back to what you were listening to. Then you have to start all over again.

Reception is quite good where i am.

So, yeah. Pretty cool really. & great price for a DAB radio.

Unfortunately, DAB still doesn't work in the Isle of Man, maybe when we reach the year 2000 eh?

Yes but "Enhanced" is replacing the current MP2 codec with AAC+ which will render all raidos that can't be upgraded by software (which is most of the onces out at the moment) useless becuase they wont be able to handlethe content of the multiplex.

serious case of deja vu.....only warmer.

Bought this for the bathroom, ideal!
It picked up all the stations using the auto tune in seconds, battery and mains powered.
Not the quality of my Pure but, for £20 this will do nicely, cheers for the link, voted hot.:-D

Pat.....pretty much identical to what i was about to say. £20.....all tuned in and playing away in the bathroom. Also handy that it does FM too...and light AA batteries! Great deal!
