read about them a while back -seem pretty good

Hmm considering the likes of Spotify.com allow you to listen to the music you want (with their vast library) and that you could perhaps record as mp3 (for later listening *ahem*) using audacity, it makes this device a little outdated.
Think £40 could be better spent to be honest, unless you are into incomplete randomly selected music and have £40 burning a hole in your pocket.

review

The good: Easy to set up and use, effective song transfer, good quality recordings
The bad: Tracks often incomplete, can take up to 36 hours to fill
Verdict: The Rebel does a good job and allows you to build a massive collection of music, even if the tracks are rarely recorded in entirity

Kind of agree although Spotify obviously plays through your laptop/pc and you need to be online. It's also *ahem* illegal to copy anything from there to a hard disk. This is a piece of hardware (and quite pretty too) that both does the recording and plays back without any need to go online.

I think the reduced length of the tracks could be an issue though and for that reason it's not for me...but hey i'm just putting out there as a deal because it's cheaper than elsewhere

if this had a DAB tuner you could set to timed recording, i would buy it instantly. i want something cheap that can record 6music evening shows to SD card so i can pop out the card, and listen to it at work, making george lamb a thing of the past (if only!)

shame. potentially useful bit of kit, but severely hampered by lack on onboard DAB
