9 reviews and nobody has commented on what drive is in the enclosure which is disappointing.

Hot for price though.

True, mind you only two of those reviews are actually for the 1TB version of this drive.

i'm guessing the attraction of this is that it's powered purely off the USB connection?

but if that isn't important, wouldn't it be better to buy a 2tb drive (ebuyer are flogging them for £40) and then just sticking it in a cheap enclosure yourself? quite a bit cheaper and with alot more capacity...

There again would it not be better to buy a double enclosure and put 2 ebuyer 2TB drives in it :p

This post is for a usb powered drive

That's fine if you have a mains supply at hand, this is USB driven so no power bricks to be lugged around.

the email offer i got the other day says different. i ordered one.

anyway, my general point was that a great many people buy these things without thinking about how and why they're going to use them and what the best value for money is...
#10
Bought two of them, as I need them for being on the move plus they are replacing two of my small older hard drives, which can't do the job...christ, to much bl00dy data to keep these days! :D

"Hard disk drive capacity: 1000 GB"

That's not a Terabyte, a Terabyte would be 1024GB, not 1000GB *sigh*

Will this fit in ps3 internally?

Amazon are buggering about with their pricing again - now showing as £70 which is not far off where you can get it some other places - like http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb-intenso-6002560-memory-station-25-external-usb-20-5400-rpm-8mb-cache-bus-powered-black where I know some folks can get free delivery...

Great price for such a huge capacity portable.

Should do as it's 2.5"...just did that last week bought a portable 500gb iomega from currys with the 10% off came to £37 odd, cracked the case open whacked the drive in the ps3 and put the old 60gb drive back in the case...jobs a good un!

I'd check your order matey - 'cos you definitely didn't buy a 2TB drive from ebuyer for £40

They were selling them for £40 i got one as well as the offer they had on an iPad for £100 and also a 40" LED for about £150... :D:)

Sorry heroicsatsuma, but it's not as simple as that. There are different 2.5" drives, and I believe the biggies (in height and Tb) can be too big.
I'm sure someone will be along shortly with the full info, but it's not true that all 2.5" drives will fit the PS3.
#17
Have ordered one of these and will be inspecting the drive inside. If you have a Mac, don't worry about the 12.5mm thickness, it'll go into the laptops

Only if the drive is 9.5mm thick, but I bet it's 12.5mm and hence too thick to fit in the PS3. The best (i.e. fastest) and biggest drive I saw for the PS3 was:

I think all the 750gb and 1tb 2.5inch drives are 12.5mm.

Ok, mine had a Toshiba 12.5mm drive in, took it out put it in my MacBook, all good. But was hoping it would be a samsung

Interestingly, it’s only a couple of quid more right now — not bad for something that was about this price before the hard drive biblical flood.
