Amazing price for this kayak given the time of year. I have this one plus also the K2 Explorer which my partner and daughter use but I use this one and it's excellent and I can't fault it. thats nearly 16 stone so covers most of the population - Im guessing the majority of people over 16 stone will be overweight so good incentive to lose a bit

Make them into a catamaran - or a fatamaran, if you will.

I was looking at these on Charles Direct yesterday along with the two seater Intex kayaks for £80. Would anyone know which is better the Challenge K2 or the Explorer K2?

My kids are aged 7 and 8. So it's either 2 x 2 seater, or maybe I should just get 4 x 1 seater's?

100kg = 15.7stone.. seems reasonable for the majority people

Take your mobile phone and have 999 on speed dial if using out of your depth. Don't forget a life jacket and whistle.

In your situation I would get 2 k2 exsplorers or like me a k1 and k2 as you could easily get 2 kids that age and an adult in a k2 depends if you want to be in k1 on your own. You will need a family license from British canoe association for 2 boats £60 pounds a year covers everywhere even Norfolk broads.
Other options are more expensive ones which will carry all of you like a sevy.

You need 999 on speed dial? Surely, so, it would take longer than litterally, actually dialling, obviously.

Thanks very much for your comments. I'll go with 2 Explorers then, plus the licence. Luckily there is a calm and flat river at the bottom of our garden, so they should get a bit of use. Cheers.

These K1's are superb, had one for 2-3 years now, so fast to inflate and deflating isn't too tricky either. The kit in the bag all seems to be good quality, altogether between me and mates we have bought about 8 of them and only 1 has suffered a puncture but that friend probably exceeded the weight limit as he is very very tall. Cannot recommend it highly enough and this is probably the cheapest price I've seen, particularly for this time of the year. I am buying another now for when other people want to come with me.

35 for licence 60 is for a family so 60 gets 2 adults a licence, you also get 3rd party insurance included.

Oh dear, how ignorant in saying that. I am 6'4 and a very healthy 17st and before you google height / weight ratio, were it states i should be 14st or some other absurd weight, maybe look at yourself?

Not if you were drowning. Do you take every literally? Judging by your quote you are drowning yourself in whisky and a complete TW#T.

He'll have you drinking baileys from a shoe!

Do you like using the "word" that you mention? Or do you agree that your quote maybe of bad taste to some people and unnecessary? I of course meant an emergency whistle if in fear of drowning. Very poor taste.

Or maybe you should grow a pair and stop looking for trouble where there aint no trouble. Stop being so politically correct -- its one of the reasons why this country has gone down the crapper.
