This is a network external hard drive, so it's mains powered.

Product blurb:

The Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive is a high-performance network-attached storage (NAS) solution, ideal for the home or small office.

Offering a huge 1TB capacity, it connects to your home network or directly to your Windows, Mac or Linux desktop or laptop computer via Ethernet. Thanks to its 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and 7200 rpm spindle speed, data transfer rates are limited only by your network speed.

Furthermore, should you wish to increase the storage space you can simply add another external hard drive to the USB 2.0 port.

Flexible, reliable, and affordable, the Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive is a great way to give yourself the freedom of 1 terabyte of storage space!

Cold, 1TB network drives have been around the £60 recently..... For this money you'd be better off spending £60 on the dual D-Link nas box and buying a seperate drive

Maybe, though isn't the dlink box larger? Plus a 1tb drive is going to be £30 at least.

This is bad, really slow to wake when accessing folders and it's noisy as hell (ridiculously loud) Sorry I wasted my money on it. I'd take the advice and go for something like the dlink mentioned that can be expanded too, think I'm going for the synergy Ds110j when it goes sub £100
