Staples have reduced the Iomega 250GB External USB HD to £49.99 in-store. Use the attcahed voucher and it is only £39.99.

Alternatively they have the 320GB for £69.99 or £59.99 with voucher.

Do you know whether this is nationwide or just in selected stores?

Which store did you go to?

Cheers

Hi Ian..
I bought mine in Milton Keynes, but it must be nationwide deal as the items have specific printed special offer boards.

Did they have a lot or very few in stock? need to see whether it is worth my petrol tomorrow :)

Cheers for posting the deal

At MK store there were quite a few 320s on the shelf, but cannot recall seeing how many 250s were left... several people were looking at Iomega drives when I was there.. Would really suggest you phoned first!

I ordered this from ebuyer:

Western Digital My Book 320GB External Hard Drive

for £59.61

Wanted to ask is this one from Staples better in quality as in is it actually me worth spending more for the HD I have bought from ebuyer than this Staples one?

I work in a Staples store as a contractor and would gladly take my money elsewhere. The store manager is a plum. Ended up buying a 500GB Iomega drive from Comet instead.

Is it just me or are these drives dropping in price every day? We'll be getting 1 Terabyte drives down to this price by this time next year at this rate.

might be because of the new solid state drives coming to the market ?

yeh just got one today, i mean it doesn't even have the cache spec on it, i think it is 8mb thats why it is a little slow (tested, slower than the maxtor 500gb).

neway it still is only £40, so gonna keep it as a backup drive.

I got the last 250gb in Aberdeen and my other half got the last 320gb on the shelf.

Thanks devilish. I can confirm Milton Keynes still have stock of the 250GB. There were none on the shelf but they had a delivery today and were still in the stockroom. I am going to use mine with a Philips DVP5980 DVD player as a DivX HDMI media player.

Thanks Devilish for the link to the offer.
Managed to get the last one on the shelf at Staples, Merry Hill Centre Dudley but they did say more were expected this week!
