READ the post ... it's 2.5" (Small factor) ... not 3.5"

2.5" drives are more resiliant (less fragile) than 3.5" drives too.

I know this is a bit random, but this looks like a very cheap way to upgrade your 40Gb Sony PS3 to me...Whip the drive out of this and whack it in your PS3, reformat it via the on screen menu and baddabing..! 250Gb PS3...Nice...=]

Comet is collect at store only, and isnt available at any of the stores that I checked local to me.

i reserved this online, went o my local comet and they couldn't find it, so they gave me the 320 GB version for the same price, £39.14

result :-D

does any1 know if i can plug this into an xbox 360 and it will show a portable device, like a usb stick?
#31
compatability with ps3? not to sound stupid but is it easy to set this up to use via usb to a ps3?

i heard of some peeps having trouble with external drives and formats. will it just plug and go?

i wannna get more memory but am not keen on pulling my ps3 apart (warrenty).

My mate just phoned and said his has gone wrong already. Apparently it has 2 usb connections (assuming it's exactly the same model), one for data and one for power. Personally I prefer my WD drive which only has one usb and has worked in everything I've tried it in.

the ps3 warranty is still valid if you change the hard drive

The second connection is only needed if the computer its connected to doesn't provide enough power to power the drive. I have used mine on many computers with just the one usb connection plugged in and it has worked fine.

Fair enough, I think the main problem he has is with a portable media player which I guess isn't kicking out enough juice.

He says that alot of the folders on his drive have gone corrupt so I guess he's got a faulty one anyway, or been playing football with it!
