also £44.97 in my local store

anyone got this drive, is it any good? I was tempted before but wanted to see if it was cheaper online first
hang on weren't these 39.99 when tesco last did promo (jan/feb):whistling:
Problems reported with usb cable fitting back then but you can swap out with your own cable.
Warmish I suppose.
If anyone interested in upgrading PS3 HDD this works great. I bought one from comet a few months ago when they were on special and it fitted with ease and have had no problems with it.

HI.Bought this when it was about £39 i think. Its a good drive, but has 2 usb connections. Not that you need 2 , 1 of them is additional power if the PC doesnt have the power required.

I have tested it on dells, acers etc and it does'nt need it, however my ibm thinkpad t23 did need it ( very old laptop) . No a prob as it has 2 usb ports.

The connection on the back of the drive itself needs to be pushed in all the way, if it comes out just by a fraction of a mm , then it wont work. Not a real problem but annoying. as its a sloppy fit.

As a drive is the same as any other i guess, its fast and small.
Just go to comet and get them to price match.

Agree with others though, there is an issue with the mini usb connection, you need to be very careful not to knock it as its not a snug fit and needs to be pushed right the way in.

PS3 owners, you can take off the enclosure and fit this inside the PS3, then use the enclosure to house the old PS3 40/80gb hard drive.
i have this...missed the £40 deal but got it as staed pice of £45....

Decent drive... connection isnt that bad actually. Nice casing, solid feel..

Defo worth the money and pro cheapest around....

don't know weather or not to get now, I really wanted a 320GB or bigger USB powered external drive, can anyone suggest?
I bought one from Comet a while ago for less than this and the wife had one form ALDI for much the same price. I thought this was about average price for this spec of hard drive or am I missing something?
£54.99 at Comet now - they seem to have gone up in price - i paid £30 for a 250gb about 6 months ago - this is the cheapest i can find but I'm happy to be told otherwise
This is a good price for this drive.
There is a minor fault with the mini-USB end of the cable.
I fixed mine by cutting 2-3mm off the plastic around it.

You can see why it comes unplugged so easily by comparing it with other
mini-USB plugs. On better ones the length of exposed metal on the plug
is a bit longer. (took me a while to notice)
