Why do you have loads?????

Extensive porn collection,maybe!!:whistling:

Hot,nonetheless!

I got one of these a couple of months ago for £70.
Nice looking drive, a 'little' noisy when being accessed, but nothing that bothered me too much.

Definitely a bargain at this price.

When I saw this, I was almost out of the door and on my way to buy! hot deal - but hate the fact its a seagate drive.

Heat added.

They're actually not bad, I think the newer models have the SATA drives installed:thumbsup:

Muckypup, I store TV on mine. The porno stays locked on the laptop
#4
lol and how big is the Desktop drive???
#5
You can't play media on the external hard drive onto the TV can you?

Not directly, no. Mine are linked to a computer upstairs that linked in turn to an Xbox running XBMC.

Iomega? I thought they went out the game. Did anybody ever buy an Iomega zip drive?

Yep, I bought 2 back in the day and they both still work perfectly:) Not much use these days though.

Performance wise, they're as good as any USB drive. None of them are 'brilliant' due to USB's bandwidth shaping. Maybe that's a windows issue though. I'd definitely rate them over Seagate Freeagents (for example) though as they seem really sluggish.

Hot! On my way to pick up now

£1.89 quidco :) HOT

I've got 2 of these but one seems to have died a death. Won't power up at all. No blue light, no sound, no nuffink. From forums it seems to be a fairly common occurence.

Iomega support is a bit lax, and as for ebuyer they aren't interested.

The one that DOES still work is a good drive, it's also very full.

Well worth the money so long as it doesn't die on you!

With the number of drives I get through in a year it's not practical or cost effective. At present i'm running 7 internal drives and 8 externals, not including the one I picked up today, or drives on other computers on my network:?

Got one of these myself - good find!

Bought this item 6months ago at this price, still a cracking deal. Mine is full of music, works like a dream.
Just a foot note, if you download music, make sure that your insurance company insures it the same as if you have bought a cd from the shop. They should do, but most insurance companys are not honouring loss of data ie. downloaded music, why not if it's paid for?. Mine tried to charge me extra for coverage, even though my cd's were insured, I threatened them with cancellation and hey presto they said that they would insure data loss for no extra charge......I no that it's got nowt to do with the offer, sorry.

I've got one as well and it randomly powers off. USB hub flashes telling me there's an error with the drive. I have to switch it off and on again to get it working. Other than that, it's a great drive. Voted hot.

Anyone got any good prices on a NAS device? 500 +GB

Ahh, cool. So how does that work then seeing as it states 1 year on the site, is it only certain items that this applies to?
#29
voted hot...very good deal.
#30
How do they compare against the 500GB lacie?
there was a thread sometime earlier highlighting the importance of having a power button on the ext hard drive? does this one or the Lacie have one.. ? I know freecom has and western digital hasn't.
plz let me know..
again..can anyone enlighten us about good network hard drives?
Thanks in advance

Well you can just return it to Comet in the 1st year, or you can RMA it with Iomega for 1st or 2nd year.

Will this work with the ps3, seems a very good price with an additional 10% discount off, and has anyone else had any problems with this in the past?
#34
Heat added - picked ours up this afternoon- Thank you for the find!
#35
Iomega make good products, their support is very slow to respond.

My year old Ultramax has 2 x 500GB Sata drives. I would suspect SATA.

Did the assistant do a double take and give you a dirty look when they checked the reservation? They did to me, but didn't question it

I got one of these a few months back. Excellent drive. No problems with speed access but then its used as a backup only. Only slight niggle is it doesnt auto power down and needs to be manually turned off.

Exactly as mine did - After this happening a few times it refused to start at all. Iomega stated reply to warranty issues in 48 hours - took over a week. Had to send it to Rotterdam at my expense (£8). Still not shown as received so still not got a replacement.
seems this is a common fault.
Hot price - maybe not so hot a product?
