Why the negative votes?

This is a 2TB NAS for £107 (its not just an external hard drive)

The same thing is £127 on Amazon, £136 on ebuyer, and £165 on Play.com

If you are going to buy a Nas then better to get one that has upgradeable bays surely? Would rather just buy a normal external and attach it to a router with a usb port then buy this.

I can't see how this can be done. You would surely need to buy some kind of interface and how would you see the drive when your server is off.

i've got this exact harddrive because it's got uPNP u can view it off xbox, ps3, media players without a PC being on. it's a great bit of kit :)

some routers have a usb port for this but most general routers wont so its a bit irrelevant.

Good price for 2TB NAS,

-100 deg can only mean people voting with what they perceive to be a trend - like the 900+ deg PSP3000 that no-one other than its OP has seen yet. Pointless.

Have some heat from me for a decent deal.

this is a truly awesome piece of kit, for the -ve voters who havent read the specs...

it has a usb print server, can be upgraded by adding a usb hdd, has got itunes and dlna/upnp media server... it has active folders which allow you to drag and drop files for automatic flickr / facebook uploads and an ftp server.

i got one of these (1tb) last time they were on offer from misco, never been dissapointed.

Just to clarify, if I stuck this on my network and plugged in my dlna TV, I could watch the media straight from the TV with the PC off?

Then yes, its a deal. I recently sorted out my step bro with a TV that supports DLNA, and this will go very nicely with it. I want something I can throw in a cupboard near the router, and then use the laptop to access it for backups. Being able to stream straight to the TV will be a godsend :D

Voted hot, thanks for posting.

Just to say initial impression is very good, the xbox responds a lot faster to this than to my file server. Not tried with a TV yet but so far so good, its pretty near silent too.
