I also used pixmania and they were great.

I bought a TV off Pixmania once which i then wanted to return, they tried to charge me 15% 'restocking' fee until I had a little word about consumer rights

you think? read my post "Iomega has a total storage capacity of 2 TB (2 x 1 TB)"

It could be that I was just unlucky, but over a year ago I bought an Iomega 500GB external drive. The drive itself is ok, but the electronics that interfaces to it has died. Hopefully this will not have the same problem.

I've had a 300Gb Iomega drive for about three years and never had a problem with it. Would have no issue at all buying another. Not sure about the 2x1Tb though.........

You were lucky, being based abroad (the Channel Islands i think) their 'Guarantee' is:

"WARRANTY AND AFTER-SALES SERVICE
Can I return my product if I'm not happy with it?
You have a 15-day money-back guarantee that starts when you receive the product"

After that its (for most of their products):

"How does the warranty work?
During the first year of warranty, if you experience any problems with the product you
contact the manufacturer's after-sales service. The contact details for most of the manufacturers
can be found on our site in the section “after-sales service”. During the second year you send the
product back to us and we will have it repaired". (when extended cover purchased)
Dunno how all this would work if buying a big telly!

Same here, will never buy from pixmania again, they asked us to send a dvd recorder back that arrived faulty via special delivery, had to fax my proof of postage but never received the postage cost, I wouldn`t have been bothered but it was £18.50 with insurance! Tried to call a few times, gave up as the phone calls were adding to my cost too. I wish i`d known my consumer rights better, I would have insisted. Nevermind I learnt to stick with UK companies.:x
Buy at your own risk, just my opinion based on my experience with them.

I had one of these as a 1TB version [2 X 500GB drives] and the fan noise was VERY LOUD! So am warning you now if it has a fan in it you will hate it.... Plus double the size/weight.... And yeh I ouldn't buy from this company again due to poor support on their own branded product being faulty.

I bought an Iomega drive (2 x 500 gig) and had the same problem. The actual hard disks are fine, they're still running in a new (non-Iomega) enclosure, but the Iomega electronics died a protracted death. Looking on Amazon and other review sites, it seems that what happened to me is a common problem.

Don't buy Iomega is my advice. Lousy products, even lousier customer service.
