I don't expect many will get excited about this drive as there's lots of good deals for external hard drives on here (I watch them, too and have been tempted by some) and yet this is the one I went for a couple of days ago. I love it : )

It offers everything I want in terms of feature set, speed, appearance (I got the graphite one), build quality, great reviews and good value, collect in store option (one hour after ordering), three year warranty, and very widely available at the moment. Yes I know there are 1TB drives around for an extra £10-!5 and sometimes portable ones for a similar price but they weren't quite what I was looking for.

Part of the same group you can also get them from Currys and Dixons at this price:

I think it's madness not to pay the extra £15 for twice the storage.

Good spot, Mr Tall with the 1p Sandisk 2GB flash at Currys - and cheers Mike B - I almost didn't bother posting this on Hotdeals due to the grief you get from people who prefer something else (they're entitled to) but who like to let you know about it : D

Well found Tall and Shine.

micheal jackson 2.5" was £40 from play a few weeks back and £39 on amazon, plus for a few quid extra you can get a 1tb seagate expansions for £55 from amazon.

seriously people, this is not a good deal - but that does not mean I dont appreciate the OP taking the time to post it. Double capacity for £15 extra is a no brainer really.

Hardly a fair comparison - perhaps the 500gb are no longer available, but 1TB hard disks are available for just a tad more:

Really? Is it an Iomega like this deal that you quote or a bog standard 1TB drive?
MrTall
order online, or reserve to collect instore to get a usb flash drive for 1p.
Thanks Mr Tall for the free Flash Drive, ordered just in time for my son who's off to Uni on Friday. :)

I want an external power source, not a 2.5" fed off the laptop.

My daughter has that 1TB Buffalo and hates it, mainly because it keeps powering off annoyingly and has no power switch on the enclosure itself. It's not all about cost. :)

Check your prices again, it seems they've changed. I myself have this Iomega in the 1TB size and have had no trouble with it whatsoever since buying it last year at the time of the panic over the internal Seagate drive firmware issue. It's the main reason why I recommended it to my son, usage and dependability over a period of time. Excellent deal. :)
