  I've been waiting for weeks for these to come back in stock. Ideally I wanted the white one, but thought.. "i'm going to use it with a cover - does the colour really matter"?

  I spoke with a genius about an hour ago online querying if they ever get them in stock as theyve been out for ages and he said just when the engineers get them unfortunately, an hour later and there in stock? Coincidence.....I think not.

  ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE !! i had 3 refurbs replaced as either i was being given one with damaged bezels or the back was covered in scratches.... apples response would be ... oh you cant expect a brand new condition unit when they are refurbs

  Did you buy direct from the apple store? Apple states that the refurb has a new outer shell and therefore there should be no damage.
  I had a refurb and it looked brand new.

  yep it was from apple...some of the genuises at the apple store in birmingham are right jobsworths, after my 3rd one which had 2 small dents in the back,the genius said ( while unpacking the ipad) '' this is the last one im going to replace'' ... i was hoping it would also be damaged as after he said that i was going to smash the ipad infront of the whole store and tell them to do 1 as id had enough, but luckily my 4th unit was spotless lol ... ive also known of cases where brand new puchased units have been opened and they have been scratched.i guess out of millions of units your bound to get a batch thats a bit dodgy looking

  That is total garbage. A refurb direct from Apple (I know I've had one) comes in pristine as new condition. The cases are replaced so you would never get a scratched/dented case.

  I think we all need to know on this site that Apple's engineers are constantly working on refurbs and they appear on their own site daily. It is not a cycle of Apple holding onto them and then releasing them at reduced cost in a cycle. This is a deal today and will be tomorrow, then again next week, then again in September etc... just depends on their own refurb engineers' workload.

  I bought one from Apple reburb, immaculate condition, the box was sealed too. Cannot complain, comes with a new battery, 12 months warranty
