iPad Air 5% off and £30 Pcworld/ Currys voucher £379.05

mattb2012mattb2012

The iPad Air is going on sale today (8AM) and Pcworld and Currys have a 5% discount code.

The code is: iTAB5
So for the basic 16GB instead of paying £399, it would be £379.05 with the £30 Pcworld and Currys voucher. The final price would be £349.05. 1% cashback on top.

I can confirm this discount code works, it saved me £28.95 off a iPad 32GB 3G+ wifi model.

32GB- £425.05 (With £30 Voucher)
64GB- £481.05 (With £50 Voucher) (Corrected price pointed out by APPLE-SAM)
128GB- £557.05 (With £50 Voucher)

4G
16GB- £444.05 (With £30 Voucher)
32GB- £500.05 (With £50 Voucher)
64GB- £576.05 (With £50 Voucher)
128GB- £652.05 (With £50 Voucher)

As far as I can see, your point only applies to PC World / Currys employees, under Clause 4:"This offer is open to employees of DSG Retail and may be used in conjunction with Colleague discount but not with any other offer

Nothing in the offer text (or the FAQs that come with it) up to that point mentions NOT combining with other offers - so I think you are correct!

The cashback depends upon how much you spend on the tablet. Presumably that is the figure AFTER any other (e.g. 5%) discounts, but it doesn't make much difference on iPad Airs.

Assuming our reading of the T&Cs is correct, you'll get £30 off 16GB and 32GB, and £50 off 64GB and 128GB WiFi models.

    You'll also get £50 off 32GB if you go for the 4G model (£579 - 5% = £550).

    It's all here: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/apple-ipad-air-352-commercial.html#ipadair

Why are they advertising the iPad Air as being 3G connectivity... it's 4G

    Also 3G - but stupid I agree!!!

Not nearly as bad as eBay sellers with headings for 3rd generation iPads saying "4G"! Not in the UK at all!

If you use the discount code you cannot claim the cashback, it is in the terms and conditions that it cannot be used with any other offer except staff discount, so this deal should be expired.

I've just ordered from PC World, thanks OP. :D

They were doing a similar promotion last year and my claim went through ok when I used a £5 off code to buy a kindle fire for my daughter, and I had to photo copy the receipt and all sorts, so i can't see this one being a problem as the t&c's don't mention anything about not being able to use any other voucher codes etc.

Message from PC WORLD regarding the cancelled ipad air order:

    Dear XXXXXXX,

Thank you for your email dated 2nd November.. I apologise for the delay in our response and that I was unable to speak to you when I telephoned today.

I was sorry to learn that your order for the iPad Air. reference PCWxxxxxxxxxx, was cancelled. Unfortunately a website error was recognised shortly after you had placed the order which meant that we were unable to fulfil it and the cancellation email was sent to alert you.

As stated in our Terms and Conditions, sometimes we have to hold our hands up and admit we have made a mistake by unintentionally publishing inaccurate information on the site (in this case the price). We may cancel your order at any time up to the point we send you the product, even if you have received your Order Confirmation email, and you will receive a full refund of any charges already paid.

The iPad Air is still available, priced at £479.00 plus a £30.00 cashback offer, if you would like to re-order it.

Thank you for contacting us and I apologise again for the delay in replying.

    Kind regards,

    Jerry Miles

I just phoned Currys Customer Help on 0844 561 1234 and the woman I spoke to checked with her manager.

She (after checking) confirmed that the discount on the order she could see (the iTab5 one) CAN be combined with the £50 cashback - and I have her name!

since new model ipad has discount everywhere i could assume that finally apple products getting less popular, since it's been always very much overpriced.

I just spoke to one of the managers at a local store and he said as long the price is over £500 AFTER you apply the voucher code, then you can still get the £50 cashback later on.

Yeah I might get that bro

    Am I seeing this correct?

These are all the discounts you can get if what you paid was over £500:

    1) 5% voucher code
    2) £50 cashback
    3) £30 voucher to be used at currys with no minimum spend
    4) 1% cashback from TCB or Quidco

    ?

Edit: Sorry discount number (3) above has been replaced with discount number (2) above as of today. So it's still works out the same effectively in the end, either with either currys voucher or with cashback.

You would be wrong! All reports say the iPad Air is outselling what the iPad4 achieved on launch a year ago (and that is with a LOT of people waiting to see the new iPad Mini before deciding)

The factor driving the discounts is that Apple seems to have no shortage of this model in the supply chain!

£30 pound voucher offer ended Wednesday (AFAIK)

The others work - Tesco have similar - EXCEPT the extra 5% - for them it is

    Quidco at 3%

Good! - matches exactly what their Customer Services said to me on the phone (and she checked - it was not just her opinion!)

Anyone ordered a 128GB version yet? I have been checking since launch date and currys/pc world have never had them in stock.

The 128GB is quite a niche model, and so I doubt that high street stores will stock it. That's what I've been told at my local PCW.

As far as I understand, as long as you pay more than the amounts outlined in the cashback T&Cs, you are entitled to cashback. It's what's on your receipt that matters, since Quidco / TCB are only passing on referral fees.

But as always, if this is a deal-breaker for you and you don't want to take any risks, don't make the purchase.
