Very useful and insightful comment, if you dont like / cant afford an iPad why are you even looking at this deal?

The stand looks like a very sleek way of protecting and making this excellent piece of kit easier to use on a desk or in a workplace environment, voted hot and will probably get one for mine!

Or buy millions of reference books, rather than use wikipedia

For many situations, not necessarily all; one is advantageous to the other.

on to many levels a stupid comment and a stupid example

it looks like a nice product for a nice price, but does outline nicely the glaringly obvious flaw with such a piece of technology

well it is just a toy for ppl with money to burn.. i can see sum sort of appeal, i mean id take one of your hands but at the price why wouldnt you just get an iphone 4 or sumthing.. surely it just does all the same and more. engineering and ergonomics going a little to far for me but ppl are happy to buy into it and thats business and up to them

please try to think of me as not hating for the sake of it as my opinion only seems rational to me oO

Trust me. you just need to live with one for a week, and you'll barely use that laptop again. i have never been sold on iphones, and other than an ipod, the ipad is my first apple product. It's the best gadget i have ever bought, and I have bought lots! Use it for work, leisure and to play games on.

can't be arsed with the stand though. rather use the case to stand it up if i want to.

It's probably the best thing ive bought. And as posted above, you wont use a laptop again, unless as a stationary desktop linked to a monitor. Its so much easier carrying a little tablet to and from lectures etc, then syncing it up with itunes and having all my notes and what not right there.

Its laughable when people say its crap because theres no usb ports or card readers etc. If you want all that crap then buy a bloody netbook or something. You also have to take into account that the tablets that have usb etc built in are running Windows 7. As good as it is compared to previous versions of Windows, its already proven how bad it is for anything with low amounts of physical memory, leaving it light years behind software such as Andriod OS, Mac OS X, and iOS.

Like I said in my first comment, most of the hatred comes from jealousy. The rest of it comes from people who dont need it, so they call it overpriced etc.

Coming from someone who's using his spare time to trade insults with another person over the INTERNET? Class mate ;)

Jailbreak it and you can do multitasking/file management and lots more.
Surprisingly, not having flash is actually beneficial as it avoids all those annoying ad's littering websites.

This is a nice looking stand. Cheers OP.

When I was on the plane from Cardiff to Edinburgh, a couple of weeks back, I saw a chap using an iPad.

It was a very neat looking piece of kit but I had to have a quiet laugh to myself as he faffed around forever getting it to the right angle balanced against the seat on the tray while watching part of a movie.

I'm not an Apple basher (although I do believe they are a overly hyped-up product) but this guy honestly appeared to be making more fuss over having an iPad than actually using it..hilarious :D

If it cost around £250, I'd probably consider one but from a practical point of view I feel that when travelling a netbook would be a safer option for not getting damaged.

That's not iPad envy ;)

I paid my money, I made my choice and guess what? The iPad is without doubt the greatest gadget (some might say toy) I have ever bought. It is an absolute joy to use and anyone from 3 to 103 can use it. My wife has stopped using her laptop for anything but serious work (i.e. clerical stuff), my kids use the iPad for games and Facebook, I use it for movie watching, internet access, reading magazines, music and now LogMeIn and Dropbox, can access my PC at home from the iPad if I need to use something more powerful.

It does have it's faults and limitations but they're easily outweighed by the benefits. I know you can buy a laptop / netbook for a lot less but it won't be as reliable, it will need recharging more often, will need more maintainence and will never, ever be as much fun to use as an iPad. No one needs an iPad, if they say they do they're lying or kidding themselves - but it is a great thing to want and own.

Fair play to you Q-Tec =), sounds like it has benefited your whole family and brought you closer togather.

# Can’t load flash enabled videos.

Whichever side of the Apple/Adobe feud you find yourself on, one thing is clear. Video content is moving away from being delivered with Flash. I don't find the lack of a native Flash player to be at all inconvenient.

# No USB support

So? Why would you want this?

# No Multitasking

This is a biggie. The iPad needs OS 4 - now!

# No Drag and Drop file management

So?

# No SD card reader built-in.

So? I admit it's a shame that Apple are selling the camera connector kit rather than giving the iPad an SD card slot.

#Money well spent.

Absolutely money well spent. It beats the pants off using my Netbook - it's portable and I can do so much more with it out and about and it replaces my need to carry a laptop with me during working day trips.
#35
Does this product support the iPad with the Apple case fitted?
#36
I went for a foldable iPad stand instead - they're all over Amazon and eBay with various names but the same design.

For goodness sakes... if you don't like or understand the iPad, start a discussion in misc forums!

Millarcat posted a deal for an iPad stand. This is a great price for what looks like a decent (albeit simple) product, so for that I am voting hot. And I am typing this from my iPad right now too. For the people trying to compare an iPad to a laptop - you might as well bloody compare an apple to an orange. Completely different products and not at all comparable.

Apple haters... Please find something else to troll

edit: just to feed the hungry trolls...

# Can’t load flash enabled videos.
- For jailbroken iPads, frash enabled flash videos and content

# No USB support
- Actually USB functionality can be enabled via a small hack and the camera attachment

# No Multitasking
- Gotta love Proswitcher - even better than native multitasking on iOS4

# No Drag and Drop file management
- Never heard of SSH? Full access to the file system - drag and drop to your hearts content.

# No SD card reader built-in.
- Ok, you got me... it's not built-in, but so what? The camera attachment adds functionality for those who need it

#Money well spent.
- I fully agree. Got £420 bonus, put £80 towards it and got the 32GB iPad. I've been on it pretty much constantly since getting it last Saturday. Absolutely money well spent.

mine arrived today
feels really badly made, also the screw doesn't hold properly, the ipad holder slides down no matter how tight you make it :(

Ohh, not so good then, arcsbite :-( Glad I held off getting one... Will PPM let you return it for a refund?
