Just a heads up on info

Vodafone now let you pre-order the iphone and their contracts look alot better value than the other networks.

For an Example Iphone 3GS 16GB

18months £35 300mins unlim texts and web £140 for the phone
or
18month £40 800min unlim texts and web £89 for the phone
or
18month £45 900min unlim texts and web £59 for the phone

Or if you want 24month contract

£45 24month 1200/unlim texts and web Free phone

You also get unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone calls

(Possible Quidco £90 for a contract (pay monthly) phone sale)

(1GB data usage per month but to be fair thats plenty for most people on a phone)

Yes still alot of money for a phone but better value than O2 or Orange.

I signed upto O2 on the iphone 18days ago so im stuck with my deal, Ive wanted one for over 6months but then My phone broke on Dec 3rd so went for the O2 deal thinking Voda wouldnt be any better as orange were no better......why oh why didnt i wait?

Hope this helps someone.

Yeah, keep it up, competitions will give better value.
#2
Nice one, i've been waiting for a bit of competition to make this happen.
#3
But.... Vodafone have capped mobile data usage to 1gb per month. If you like watching TV / iPlayer on the train etc, then you may blow this quite quickly.
#4
Not sure if this is the best deal.

People who vote cold please give links where you can get this phone at a better price with the same sort of deal please. Dont vote cold because you dont want the phone or think its expensive for a phone. I put the info here for people that want an iphone.

Wonder if there will be any Quidco deals about?

What is Vodafones 3G coverage like though?

My contract expires in Feb

1GB only so rubbish if you use it what its intended for besides being a phone.
#8
Might be better for some they have just tweaked the figures.Cost a little less in initial costs but less minutes per month.
#9
How much is it if you go over the 1gb allowance?

Sure unlimited would be great but 1GB is a huge amount of data to use on a mobile some people dont even use this on their home internet still.

I agree I consider myself a mid/heavy user and I only just touch 800-900mb a month...

Nothing, but if u repeatedly go over then u get a call to watch your usage
#12
1GB is fairly poor imo, but backed up by some great calls/text allowance, I may mention this to the bro as he is on Vodafone (curse him not coming to O2 lol)

p.s. haven't voted.

Yeah so im guessing its so cold in here because people dont understand how mobile data works or they are iphone haters. :whistling:

But even if its cold i hope i have still helped some people

Yes, thanks it's great to see the voda tariffs, now that Orange, Tesco and O2 are in the game. I'm on voda and will consider this, as due an upgrade.

I would hold off just now. I think the mobile firms will be fighting for business in new areas next year as their current business is stagnating with very little growth, if any.

1gb capped net usage i dont think so - thats a joke

I live in small village and can surf quite happily on 3g on voda. Mines a jb & ul 3G iPhone and ivebeen with voda for about 10 years now. Obv diff areas will have diff signal strengths but I've always been happy with them

Sorry also was going to ask - did I not just see it on voda site or is there no pay as you go offering yet???

I voted cold because it's in Electricals instead of Mobiles. :whistling: Why do people always do that?

And it's expensive for a phone and I don't want one.

Sorted its now in Mobiles.

You shouldnt vote cold because you dont want one tho lol

If you go over the 1gb it will £5 per 500mb.
Taken from the vodafone eforum:
"If you go over this figure you will be charged £5 for every 500MB there after."

Agreed, on most phones 1GB would be more than enough but not on an iPhone. Push email, web browsing, all though nice apps using data and some YouTube and 1GB will not last very long.

I didn't. But I could've!!! :-D

I actually think they're good to use, but no bluetooth, no zoom on the (poor) camera, unable to use mp3s as ringtones. How long have even the most basic of phones had these features?

It's no use saying there's an app for that or you can convert a mp3 in **itunes if you want to use it as a ringtone. These things should be standard. It just feels like they haven't quite worked out how a phone's supposed to work.

I'll consider getting an iphone when it's finished.

Well the deals are getting better. For a heavy user the Tesco £60 is still the best but for people who want to send more than 250 txts the voda is best so far on low price tariff.

I personally don't like Voda, their reception has been getting worse over the years - have a 3g dongle and my partner gets 3g almost always on her iphone with Orange, yet Voda is seriously patchy!!

BUT..... thats not a reason to vote cold, the deal is good & the best for texters - so HOT!
#25
Hot from me. I've had an iPhone 3G since they came out and my contract is up end of Jan. I quite like the iPhone but I HATE o2 - never had such crappy network coverage. The network was often so busy I struggled to make basic calls, let alone use the internet. Texts would come through hours late. I live in Birmingham so hardly in the middle of the country.
I was keen to see the iPhone on other networks. I just wonder which is best for genuinely good 3G coverage, and if having the iPhone would make the other networks congested too? Because I suspect o2 had this problem because they sold so many iPhones with unlimited data allowances!

Well I can only comment on Orange and Voda - Partner has the iphone on Orange and signal is good - it can be a little slow in the countryside but still gets 3g. My work phone is Voda and my USB dongle is Voda & both are really patchy on 3g.

Orange does claim to have the best 3g coverage & they will soon join with T-mobile, so can only get better.

I guess the only way to find out is to order an iphone from the orange website, give it a try & then send it back within 7days if the signal is shocking!!
